It lasts forever, thank f*ck! If you smell it & fall in love, John Lewis & Fenwick have it in their price matches every now & then.

I’m another who came here after Freaky Friday. Sort of. I had an account a while ago so I could see pictures but hadn’t been here for a while.

I echo many other people’s opinions and don’t really have anything new to add but reading @PopperDops comment about what she’s going through (apologies for talking about you like you’re not here) it’s really struck me just how far removed this place is from the image that’s being presented by the likes of SH and the other influencers.

People are reaching out to PD in a supportive way. We’ve had an interesting conversation about fragrance and we also have the honest thread about beauty in general.

I feel like I’m getting almost everything I need from the internet from this one forum. Not the nasty, trolly corner or the internet it’s purported to be.
 
Everything she writes & shares in SM is so contrived. Her latest post on Insta implied a pot bellied pig strolled into her garden. When I read it initially I was inclined to think the pig was a native of Brighton. But half way through the comments it transpires that the pig wandered in to the garden of a b&b she was staying in. 🤦🏻‍♀️ And now she's has a bleeping authority on pot belly pigs. Jesus wept.
 
Have just watched the face mask IG vid. What a calculated PR stunt; a non brand to not offend, a demo in true influencer style, a pretty negative review ‘look I am not schilling’.

I get so pissed off now with the ‘I bought it with my own money’ line. Yes, we know how that works, we do that, for everything.

I am just cynical of her every move these days. Her lack of weighing in on the Twitfest frenzy over the Prince Andrew interview made me think of here, can’t remember who said it but they are right, she is probably desperate for an OBE or something because SHE IS SUCH A GOOD PERSON with her charity work.

@PopperDops I am so sorry to read what you are going through. Get all the help, don’t suffer.

I fear you are correct. It was most probably a cynical PR stunt, with zero personal risk. I hereby retract my earlier charitable comments 😞

Yes, who goes around proclaiming themselves a "good person". Hint: usually not good people

Yes - it smells quite man-made (I can’t think of the term, but it’s a bit industrial) at the start, and first spray I thought “duck no!”

Hawaiian Tropic is vastly underrated! I have a few bottles & just slather myself in it & pretend I’m somewhere tropical, instead of London!

I broke up with my fiancé of 3 years recently. He's an artist and has been on social media for years and on Patreon for the last two years. Ultimately the constant presence of online admiration killed our relationship. Real life got too boring for him. There's always ego boosting on SM going on. It's addictive. I wanted a relationship with the person but ultimately only the persona was left. SM fame is not a positive thing.
 
It seems like these people have been telling us who they really are all of this time. Honestly, had I known that she had re-tweeted that Woody A. article, I would have given up on her sooner (I also enjoyed a lot of his films, but duck that, he didn't cure cancer or is humanity in any way in his debt). And now nothing on that pervert Andrew? See, this is when you put yourself on the middle of the road in front of a truck, or whatever the duck she said, not the right to wear lipstick (which is your right etc., we're on the same page here, I think), but the right of not being assaulted, groomed, exploited and raped, FFS!
Most of them should have seven people read their tweets before they actually publish them, it's embarrassing, and 80% of tweets are thoughts that should be kept to yourself or your closest friends. On the other hand, this has proven to be a great tool for people to out themselves as complete pricks.

My favourite perfume of all time is Laura Biagiotti "Roma", and although I like a few others like J'adore, I could wear this one till I die.

I think probably yes. I think people have quite a capacity for excusing, for getting comfortable with, their own behaviour.

If anyone's interested, I read an absorbing book recently about why and how people justify their actions so that they can continue to believe they're a good person. It's called 'Mistakes were made (but not by me): Why we justify foolish beliefs, bad decisions and hurtful acts'.

(Not saying that SH is not a good person but I think that - like everyone - she's made some errors of judgement and bad decisions and acted in a way that has not always been kind.)

Btw, I'd imagine she hasn't weighed in on Prince Andrew bcs insulting the royals is now off brand for her what with that turd of a book she wrote on the Queen. With that, her Tory husband and her bestie Mitford, she's very much part of the bougie establishment now. That's why her whinging about getting 'trolled' (read: mildly criticised) evidently just doesn't ring true for people. We all know that the opinion of some well-connected hole in the pages of a broadsheet is worth 200 from skidmark plebs such as ourselves in terms of influence.
