Thank you @Tesla's Ghost, you're very kind. Joan was 'actually iconic' and imho could teach SH a few things. For instance, she gave a huge amount of her wealth to charity and people in need over her lifetime and never breathed a word about it.

Even more bizarre is that I recently read all of her threads here from the beginning sort of to see them through fresh eyes. So bloody tame (and a relatively quiet thread compared to others on Tattle) and the whole tone was mild exasperation at worst. Hardly any mention at all of the Dawn, Esther or Lauren Luke stuff, I suppose because we focussed on her work, mainly the column. It was only when we felt the need to defend ourselves that that stuff was produced. And the Giles Coren video too. So odd to shout 'bully' when you should be so grateful your own past is still relatively hidden.

And the mental health slurs just keep grating terribly don't they.

Yes, gloves definitely came off after that video. A lot of stuff from past + some of her mates' stuff got another airing which I expect they were pleased about. And the pisstaking got taken up a notch.

@PopperDops you have realised what is happening and as others have said that is the first biggest step you can make. Don’t let this person be in your life in any shape or form ever. It’s so hard to write these words because I know what I went through and I wish I could just sit and talk to you. I moved to where I knew nobody but it was the start of a new life. It also helped that he was put in prison in another country 😀. They make you feel worthless stupid etc. I couldn’t even make a decision over what butter to buy because by that time I thought everything I did was wrong. It does get better and you will get stronger. Sending you love xxx

Some things that I have found recently and liked:

A dupe for Lisa Eldridge Velvet Myth lipstick - GOSH Matt velvet touch lipstick 010 in 'Smoothie'. It's identical - I find it long-lasting and non-drying. It's also not a 'flat' matt. It's great.

NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint - goes on really nicely with fingetips, actually minimises pores (no primer needed) and dries into a natural your-skin-but-better finish with no need for setting powder. has staying power. Medium coverage. Again, not a flat matte, but you can add a bit of glowy highlighter if you want to. I love this stuff. Have been trying a few different foundations recently and this one is by far the best for me. Mature skin, but still prone to the odd spot. The online reviews are mixed, so it's obviously not for everyone but I can't find fault with it.

@PopperDops I’ve been there too and you have my fullest sympathy. The very best thing I did was to call it out and calmly question why he’d want to behave this way. What was he was getting out of hurting me? Once I’d called it by name (gaslighting), he finally recognised his behaviour, was horrified by what he’d become and he sought help. It was a good outcome and I hope you can have your own good outcome too. ❤️

Btw, I'd imagine she hasn't weighed in on Prince Andrew bcs insulting the royals is now off brand for her what with that turd of a book she wrote on the Queen. And to think when she uploaded the rage video, she claimed there were just 14 people here criticising her.

Maybe she hasn’t commented on the Newsnight interview because such an illogical, badly advised, unnecessary, inflammatory, car-crash own goal feels too familiar...

Not just 'people', remember it was especial heinous as we were WOMEN. Not sure why that made it worse, but make it worse it did.

(As an aside there is something I find highly amusing about CH wholeheartedly agreeing with tweets that had to be deleted, probably on legal advice.)

I'd forgotten the hilariously oddly phrased and faux-shocked - 'Teachers of children among them!' as if Tattlers are polluting the minds of infants with sordid stories of influencers having a sneaky bit of Botox.
There is something wonderfully Victorian about her views on Female Teachers having an opinion.
