Yep, judgement on others is fine. But don't judge her!!Ah so she doesn't like being judged for wearing a bold red lip (or whatever) but can judge another woman for wearing lipgloss.
Got it

I don't wear either for work...because I'm too busy doing my bloody job, I'm not there to look decorative and my confidence comes from knowing my stuff, not a stupid tube of coloured waxI don’t wear lip gloss because I hate how it feels. Not because I’ve earned the right to wear lipstick or whatever nonsense rule Sali has
She has the "I'm a grown up now" complex.I don’t wear lip gloss because I hate how it feels. Not because I’ve earned the right to wear lipstick or whatever nonsense rule Sali has
Neither is great tbh.As seen on TV (first pic). As seen on Instagram advertising Erborian (second pic). How/why does her face change shape?

Indeed she shall. As long as it’s in shades of cobalt blue (even though she rarely has cause to wear it because she dresses in neutrals) and THE BEST COLOUR IN THE WORLD quietly rebellious navy (for the ultra-feminine and tomboys alike)FFS Sali, just let people live.
Focal length changes faces a lot. That's not a filter. Just physics. As seen on TV (first pic). As seen on Instagram advertising Erborian (second pic). How/why does her face change shape?

This pile of absolute guff gets worse every time you read it. Not least because it’s like something that fell out of a finishing school etiquette manual circa 1947.
Assuming the BBC has the right lens* in its camera, is it reasonable to assume that she has chosen to use a focal length that slims/elongates? Might not be considered a filter but certainly an intentional distortion?Focal length changes faces a lot. That's not a filter. Just physics.

Well, they all record true to life, depending on how close or far away you are. A tv camera is a “normalised” focal depth we are used to; they also have industrial lights and make-up. Certain foreign news channels I watch manage to make their newsreaders practically 2-d. And now influencers have a normalised look - egg head, pointy chin.Assuming the BBC has the right lens* in its camera, is it reasonable to assume that she has chosen to use a focal length that slims/elongates? * I.e. a lens with a focal length that records what's in front of it in a way that's true to life.
By 'true to life' I mean as would be seen by the naked eye at the same distance. I don't think lights and make-up would elongate or compress - although, as seen in her Instagram videos, lighting alters other aspects of the image.Well, they all record true to life, depending on how close or far away you are. If the green cancels the red so well, she could consider putting it all over her eyes so she doesn’t look like a small hairless animal
Funniest thing about the Erborian video is towards the end when she says she's going to add only 'minimal' make-up because she'll be putting on more make-up later for an event. Over the CC cream and tinted eye cream she then adds: bronzer (all over), blusher, eye shadow, eye liner, mascara, brow gel, lip color, lip pencil. Unsurprisingly it doesn't look at all minimal.Guys, I definitely think we should be rushing out to buy this Erborian stuff. Behold! Before, red angry rash, after, still fairly red, but now with an Oompa Loompa orange-tinged face. Run don’t walk! #expertcontentcreator

As someone who has worked in tv, it’s not true to life! The camera adds 10 lb, after all…By 'true to life' I mean as would be seen by the naked eye at the same distance. Which is closest to how you look in general? Longer focal length? My front-facing camera bears so little resemblance to how I look in the mirror, it's uncannyFocal length changes faces a lot. That's not a filter. Just physics.
