Ryan Reynolds & Blake Lively

I used to quite like them both, but I think we've just had too much of them recently.

He tries to play the nice guy too much - like no-one can be that nice all the time? The Wrexham stuff, no offence to the people of the town, but I just can't genuinely believe he's that fussed about the locals? Watching them it feels like that comes more naturally to Rob? Or maybe, he's just a better actor?

And Blake? I saw a couple of interviews she did; one being interviewed by Emma Bunton and then one later the same day while she's talking to her next interviewer about it, and her reaction in both again just feels too off, too OTT, for me. The "I'm a girls girl" just feels so massively forced. It's like she's a girls girl as long as girl is pretty and / or useful to her in some way?

I think he's very insecure which is one of the reasons he was so eager to find a community to become a pillar of. I don't doubt he's done a lot of material good for Wrexham but it seems a tad self-serving to make a whole documentary about what a generous benefactor you are and makes me question the motives behind it.

TJ Miller read him correctly I think. Now Miller has plenty of his own issues and is certainly an elite tit-talker, but he doesn't have any reason to lie about Ryan.

Miller, who played blunt bartender Weasel in the franchise's first two films and has been embroiled in multiple controversies over the years, says he thinks his former costar hates him and recalled a time when Reynolds allegedly requested another take to belittle Miller in front of the cast and crew.

"As the character, he was, like, horrifically mean to me. But to me. As if I'm Weasel," Miller explained on The Adam Carolla Show. "He was like, 'You know what's great about you, Weasel? You're not the star, but you do just enough exposition that it's funny, and then we can leave and get back to the real movie.'"

Miller said the jab took him by surprise. "I just kind of listened and thought it was weird, and then I got off stage because they were like, 'Cut…?,'" he said, adding that the crew seemed uncomfortable after the scene, too.

Miller also suggested the interaction went deeper than just an onscreen dynamic. "That's exactly why he said that," he deadpanned. "Because I'm not funnier than he is at all, right? And I haven't been in more movies than him."

Throughout the Carolla Show interview, Miller maintained that he genuinely enjoys Reynolds' performance as the Merc with a Mouth — even if he sees him as an "insecure dude" in real life. "He's such a good comedian that, when you cover his face, he's so quick, he's so funny," he said. "I love him as a comedian, but I think after he got super, super famous from the first Deadpool, then things kinda changed. I think he was like, 'See? You guys see?'"

Despite his comments, Miller admitted that his stance on working with Reynolds could change. "I've said that about Michael Bay, and now we're friends, and I would work with him again," he said, before adding that Bay similarly has a "very specific opinion" of Reynolds after they worked together on the 2019 film 6 Underground.

But, he added, "I don't wish them any ill will. I think [Reynolds] should make a Deadpool 3 and continue to make movies. I just think he doesn't like me, and I thought it was weird how he expressed that."

Oh absolutely, I should have been clearer about that part. I think what they've done for Wrexham is absolutely awesome and I don't begrudge the town or the people that at all, but yeah the whole documentary is so American in that it's so "aren't we great and aren't we so wonderful and none of this would be happening without us". But I weirdly don't find Rob as self serving about it all. He seems to come across better, and more natural about it all. I think it maybe bugs me because it was Robs idea primarily and then Ryan gets first billing with most of it all because he's obviously the bigger name...

The whole ‘wear your florals and go with your girlfriends’ is actually mind blowing 🤣 if you wanted a barbie moment you should have done a rom com

don’t get me wrong, they could only work with what they were given and colleen hoover is to writing what jlo is to singing/acting 🤣 ( i also have a lot of thoughts on problematic CH) but on the theme alone they should have been more subdued in their promo

at least tik tok is on the right side of this, they hate these 2 as well and everyone is behind Justin.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who can't stand this pair! I wrote on the actors you can't stand thread that I don't like him (well, hate him really!) and I find her equally as annoying. I just don't get them. Neither is particularly talented, I don't think either is attractive and I find the whole banter thing between them so forced. Won't be watching any of their films, won't be buying any of their brands, would be put off by anything they're associated with 😆

I actually never had much against Ryan and Blake but they've definitely crossed over into annoying with this whole debacle.

As Tom and Zendaya have proven you can be an 'it' couple and support each other at events/premieres etc. without being annoying about it.

I also think they're probably threatened by younger, upcoming actors who can easily fill their "niches" in Hollywood.

The likes of Maika Monroe, Sydney Sweeney and Daisy Edgar Jones could play everything Blake's ever done in their sleep.

Ryan's basically got nothing outside of Deadpool so if this had flopped he'd have been fucked, and I can't see them squeezing much more out of the character anyway.

I don’t see this with Ryan Gosling so much, I think Eva Mendes just got fed up with acting

agreed (and moneywise she’s maybe richer than him with what she’s made off those sponges 🤣) - gosling also comes across to me as someone who’s prepared to play a supporting role or let other people in a cast shine. reynolds has to be the centre of attention at all times.

the way blake has promoted it ends with us genuinely has me 🤢 i can’t lie, i loathed that book (i had covid when i read it and of the two experiences covid was better) but it’s not exactly difficult to understand the themes. the whole floral vibes and playing it almost like a romcom is as poor as how coho wrote it in the first place. i feel for justin b, who seems trying to actually take it seriously. i’d love him to say what really happened.
