I stumbled across an earlier iteration of this thread when googling how Ben Parkes had done at UTMB (my guess was right) but have since been consumed by the welshtits thread instead. Compulsive reading!

Caught up on a couple of these threads but I'm struggling as often people are referred to by names rather than actual Instagram usernames. Worked some out but not others.

Is there a handy list of the main accounts commented on anywhere so I don't have to try and find the right account?

Besides the Welsh duo my main scorn is Ben is running and his lack of being able to eat, drink, film or wear anything without it being sponsored by the world and its wife.
There isn't a list but feel free to ask, I didn't know some of them.

Anyone follow not_today_seitan ?
Nutrition grad who started running over lockdown and is doing pretty intense mileage and gym sessions. Not a massive followership(?) but I found her journey interesting initially.
However lately I'm finding myself thinking it seems pretty intense for a young grad juggling a full time job. Can't help but compare myself and where I am lifestyle wise as there are a lot of body photos and Garmin paces. Maybe this is just me reflecting on the fact that need to stop comparing myself to insta runners and unfollow people who aren't helping my mental health 🙈

I really don’t see the point of people constantly posting photos of their running pace on their watch a) no one gives a shit about your stupid pace and b) it can make people feel like crap. I find that influencers tend to share the good runs and never mention the terrible ones. Please don’t make her posts make you feel sad, it’s all a highlight feel showing the best bits.

I personally think she sounds a bit disordered? Just come back from injury (most likely an overuse injury) and says she wants to be doing 55-60 miles a week! But they are mainly junk miles on tired legs as I don’t think she takes rest days. I don’t get why that number of miles a week, it gets a bit pointless after a certain point. Compare her to lilliesfitness who just smashed a 3.07 marathon on way less miles, but real quality sessions 🤷‍♀️

Please tell me someone stuck a post-it note to his back saying “I’m a sex pest” and that is what the randoms in the crowd are laughing it? Maybe it’s just his mums pull-ups on his arms 🤷🏽‍♀️

Getting a bit annoyed at all these insta-marathoners who say they are recovered after only a week because they "didn't race" their marathon. I'm looking at you Kirstys_running. A 20 min difference isn't really taking it easy in my book and she went out at 3:40 pace before dropping in the second half. It might be less mentally draining but you still put your body through a lot. And don't get me started on the twerps who did back to back marathons..... This is not normal and new runners who seem to hang off these idiots every word need to understand that it isn't.

Just saw Kirsty’s post… FFS. She clearly did race her marathon as there was only a 20 minute difference in time. Not racing would have been a lot slower.
I unfollowed her a while ago but was following when she bonked Brighton under Tits coaching. Might have to block her for Boston, she’s going to be fucking unbearable.

I’m guessing he’s stopped trying to get into Clarke’s pants now she’s back with the cheating scum bag terrible boyfriend!
Went on her page yesterday, it’s good to see she still fucking loves herself more than ever.
I finally unfollowed her a while ago cause I just found her smug ‘I’m better than you’ face was doing nothing for my blood pressure, but just had a nose. It astounds me that she continues to get more nauseating. seen a few people who seemed to do well on those runna plans over the marathons recently and was thinking about having a look at them for my ultra next year but seeing they’ve associated themselves with her, think I’ll steer clear.

Anna does this all the time. Heck, even the marathons she does put effort into, and admits it through gritted teeth as if it pains her not to be the 'cool girl' runner all the time who just runs for a laugh while scarfing down a million chicken wings, she doesn't recover properly from at all. A day or two later, back running and planning the next marathon with a month or two gap in between.

Instagram really does reward runners who can just get away with shit like that due to luck and genetics. Sad thing is the ones who do get injured trying to pull off the same thing just disappear half the time and quickly get forgotten about, giving the impression that everyone and their friend can break all the rules of sensible training. I'm so glad I started running well before social media was so prevalent. I look back on those times and realise that was when I enjoyed running the most, because it hadn't been tainted by all the twats I associate with the identity of 'runner' now.

These people annoy me too and have no respect for their bodies or recovery. They have absolutely no understanding of training or recovery. Regardless of whether you raced it or not, you've put your body through TWENTY SIX MILES. Whatever your pace, there's no magical bouncing back from it.
