It’s so sad. Charlie has just posted her 2018 (best year of racing).
There are £100s, if not £1000s of pounds of events and kit gifted in those photos. That money could have been spent in a much better way by the companies involved. As she readily admits, she got injured from all the races and training and she has had severe FOMO ever since.
Why not encourage sustainable races (endurancelife and Hardmoors are good examples- bare minimum at the stops) without all the Insta freeloaders, stop all the freebies and put money into grass roots running.
But then Martha, Charlie, coffee nuts, Kelly and the rest wouldn’t have the huge pit stops with the motivational signs to take insta pics next to and Yoga at the end to massage their egos.
It would be so easy if a few companies took steps so the rest would follow. We want running to go back to how it was, even 10 years ago. Stop this waste.

I didn’t see any begging posts or stories, but he certainly received some! Yeah, made no sense to me either, hence the unfollow!! Shame as I quite liked his account before he quit his job for full time vlogger status

Quit his paper round? He looks about 14 with that bum fluff on his lip.
He annoys the heck out of me. Comes across as arrogant, uninteresting and unoriginal. On YouTube, he's obviously copying the likes of Seth Demoor (down to the fake morning routine shots - coffee making 'n' all), but without any of the charm. I think the only video I enjoyed is when he blew up spectacularly during his debut 50k recently. He went off way too fast and had to walk the last 25k or so!
And don't get me started on his motto "Aspire to run. Run to inspire."

Oh wow. I had no idea of this whole saga!! But I’m quite new to running and running IG world so I’ve missed a few bits along the way.Big Carl Running. Started as a bit of a genuine inspiration TBF, and looked like a nice guy, lost a tonne of weight, had some issues as a kid took up running. Got in with a good crowd who ran with him a lot, coached him, got him to Berlin marathon and he ran it, slowly but he ran it. Then he got a bit big for his boots, a table at the National Running Show, ASICS frontrunner, all the freebies, Runnersworld article, but what he showed online wasn't real. He took his timing chip off so his time was hidden, cheated at some, cheated at parkruns (wtf???), spent ages bigging up races then pulled out of almost all. His blog was a work of fiction. Famously took a photo of a 10 mile marker of a there and back race, but was only at mile 1 and then pulled out but never admitted to it. Obsessed with beating the sweeper at races so pushed forward to earlier waves and at Chicago got a disability place to start an hour ahead of the race despite never using it as an excuse before. He was the Kelloggs year at ASICS I think. Is Carl Plays Golf now but being overweight and slow isn't anything special in the golfing world so his constantly tagging brands isn't gonna get him anything. Could have been a great influence for positivity but the influencer lifestyle kinda broke him and he quit running and the community.
This is the one to avoid is he comes knocking

started UKmarathonchat on twitter, said he was special forces, which was a lie, said he had cancer, which was a lie, stole a tonne of money from a lot of people and was very vicious in the DMs. Totally ruined a lot of people's lives and they are still suffering. He has been released apparently and people are flagging is SM accounts when they pop up.
A dick pic from Fudgie is one thing, but if this guy DMs you delete and block straight away.
