I completely agree. Obviously Autism is nothing to be ashamed of, but this should be Atlas' decision in later years to reveal it on a public platform if he wants to.
The child is not even 2 yet and is changing every day. I think it is unfair to reveal this information about him.
This isn't just a Rosemary thing by the way - I would feel the same about any influencer doing this.

Exactly, my kid isn't ashamed of being ND but sometimes he doesn't want to declare it and that is his right. He would(rightly) be furious if I took that choice away from him for no reason. I think Rosemary should have a good hard think about exactly why she felt the need to tell the world this, she went on about her IBS, why would she have told people this, you are not my friend blah, blah but did this to her son? She expects privacy but can't give it to her child, who will one day grow up to be a man. It's not fair and it isn't right. They might seem like 'yours' when they are small and yes you do get to make decisions for them but making irreversible and such personal decisions for him when she has no idea who he will be when he grows up is really irresponsible.

She said it on stories at the time and in the book...

She did, she went back to America just before lockdown and Covid hit. I like Rosemary but I do think she is struggling with her little boys diagnosis and I absolutely abhor ABA. The use of it is, unfortunately, influencing my opinion of Rosemary.
She had to go back to Ireland because her Visa was expiring and you have to leave in order to apply for a new one. My memory of it is that she was always considering a permanent move there before she ever met him but she wanted to try it out and see how she felt before committing to it.

In the article linked a couple of pages back she was saying that the whole time she was back in Ireland they were calling and texting each other, she realised that she was in love with him and went back to the US...

She had to come back to Ireland to arrange her visa. She had already decided on a 2 year stay with her sister and to work within the scope of her visa.
Meeting himself was the icing on the cake. She seems very happy with him

I don't think anyone is saying that she is unhappy with him. Just that she continued the desperate search for a man until she got one to commit.

Yeah - I think you're missing the point.

She does seem happy , but as previous posters have said - the desperation for male attention is sad.
It's disappointing that Rosemary (who had a successful career, and pushes feminist values etc) has spent her life looking for the approval of men.

So I read the book and it made me feel nothing but pity for her. She's spent her entire life looking for the approval/attention of men, going from relationship to relationship looking for something that she should have found within herself all along. I expected the book to end with some great reveal on her learnings from all of her life's experiences and an insight into why she craves love/attention of any and all men who cross her path. Unfortunately it didn't deliver. I think she lost herself along the way, trying to see herself through other's eyes. I'm sure she didn't imagine a life of sitting in her empty american home stalking all of her ex's social media. Sad really.
Precisely this!

The fact that she continued to text a man she knew had three small children and one newborn until her sister intervened and told her to ignore him tells
me all I need to know about her moral compass or lack there of.

This I also find odd. She didn’t even like him during their first date. Not sure what her motivation was here. The validation maybe?

Are you for real. Isn't that most girls intention to find a man to marry and live happy ever after

I think most people see themselves settling down in a loving relationship at some stage.
Rosemary focus was to find a partner at all costs, regardless if it emotionally, mentally and times physically damaging to her. She out her value in being loved by someone at all times. I would love to see more about how she reflects on it all now, in the cold light of day.
She was very honest and revealing of herself in the book. Very brave to allow yourself to be so exposed.
Her core beliefs are of equality for all. She sometimes gets it wrong but is fundamentally a good person and I love her writing style.

Is it brave or just attention seeking
