Does anyone know anything about the case of little Isabella Rose Wheildon? Not many details available yet but seems like the trial of her parents is about to begin?

Trigger warning if you’re going to look it up - it looks like potentially possibly another awful child abuse case

I remember when it happened, as I used to live in Ipswich and the road where this temporary housing unit is located is in a good area, definitely somewhere that I considered living.

Reading that article, i don't understand why the child was allowed to remain with them, considering the absolute chaos of their living situation.
---
Given Isabella has a different surname to both accused I'm going to assume this is another case of a mother prioritising her feckless new partner over her child

Sounds like that's exactly what it is. Again.

I don’t understand what it means when it says causing her death through neglect by weed and cocaine. Does that mean they were getting high and ignoring her or that they GAVE the baby weed and cocaine.

A very grim case in Istanbul that I only just found out about.. 19 year old kills a girl he stalked and his ex girlfriend before committing suicide. Here's the thread on X about it as I don't want to post anything here that would be disallowed. It's horrific, so be warned. He even invited the mother of one of the girls to go there and threw her dismembered head towards the parents of the girl. Truly awful. I also learned that Turkey has one of the highest femicide rates in the world. Truly tragic.

I can’t imagine what a child would go through, locked in a room alone with no food, water. Nothing. Absolutely horrific and inhumane.

If you re-read the article which has now updated I think unfortunately what the prosecutor is saying is that the baby was killed and they hid the body under blankets in the shower for 3 days
---
Or left it lying around so she has access to it maybe?

Maybe although the Sun article has now updated and that’s not not how the prosecutor is saying she died

A new series of Crimes That Shook Britain has started on the Crime & Investigation channel. It's not one of my favourite programmes but last night's episode was about the case of Shakira Spencer if anyone remembers that one (hard to forget if you read the details) and it's available on catch up. I might watch it just to try and understand the background more, as I never felt it was clear why Shakira was so vulnerable.

The DM article, if I am reading it right, says the mother and new partner started a relationship towards the end of May 2023 and Isabella died at the end of June 2024. A month? Oh my god.

Do you mean June 23?

unfortunately that’s not unusual, there’s been a few cases where things deteriorated suddenly and horrifically after the new man moves in.

What I find hard to believe is that they were apparently offered a permanent home but the mother refused it because she was insisting on the man being there with them and the home offered was just for her and the baby

I assumed because they were off their faces and basically forgot about her. But sadly it could be all of the above. She probably had traces in her blood.

Ohh it said no defo tie cause of death determined when I read it. I’ll go read the update, thank you.

Drugs and chaotic lifestyles have a lot to answer for. Far too many children are the victims of this 😔

It's in the report - father, stepmother and uncle.

Ah so it is, sorry. I find articles about Sara difficult to read cos despite having many injuries, old and fresh, the pathologist was unable to determine exactly how she died. Which is rare as they usually will at least hazard an educated guess. The fact that they can’t in this instance suggests a number of things…none of them good.

Does anyone know what relation (if any) the three adults accused had to Sara? I assumed it was parents/aunts/uncles but is v unclear from the reporting?

Father, stepmother, uncle. Not that any of them deserve those titles.

Her father had been awarded full custody of her and her biological brother, over their mother. There are other siblings who share the same father, and Sara’s stepmother is their mother.

The children are all in Pakistan still I think.

It's all going on today. I really need to get back in the game!

They should have pleaded guilty, hateful people.

I do wonder how much will be not reported because of the relevance of family court proceedings for Sara and her brother, and to protect the other siblings.
---
Also, which of them made the 999 call to alert to her body. That was a big risk.

As awful & as selfish as this sounds, I try not to read many of the articles about child abuse/murder cases. I followed Star Hobson & Sebastian Kalinowski’s cases closely as they were local-ish to me and they were so haunting and disturbing 💔 my heart just breaks. I cannot fathom why anyone would intentionally hurt a child.
