It’s so sad, the mum also said that her daughter was trapped in the car “in the dark until it got light and then dark again over two days.” That struck a chord with me, just the passing of time, she must have been terrified, she also called out but no one was close enough to hear her ☹

the bbc wales article has comments from a few motorists and joggers who all passed that road over the weekend and were genuinely horrified to know they’d been so close and seen nothing. the poor girl must have been aware of the traffic on the slip road too and just no one being able to hear. it’s awful :(

I think a year or two ago there was a BBC called missing and someone had left a family party and wasn't seen again. They were found days later having crashed into thick bushes either on a roundabout or on the side of a fairly busy main road. It's just bad luck noone was there to see the accident happen.

I watched that. He had drug problems that people weren’t aware of i think.

Has it said who was driving in the Wales accident?

There was a case near us years ago of a taxi driver who went missing. I think he was only missing a few days but sadly his body and car was found in a ditch off a major A road, hundreds of cars past him in the few days he was there. So tragic the news in Wales.
Yes, I remember this too. It was really sad and the first thing that came to mind when I heard about what had happened in Wales.

There was a case in scotland few years ago, young couple crashed car Off motorway into woods, someone saw it and phoned police. Police responded 3 days later, man was dead but woman still alive, sadly she died a few days later in hospital.
was so sad as she probably would have survived if they had dealt with call in first instance, they both had young kids too.

So I compiled a small list that I've forgotten plenty of, upcoming trials etc.

Upcoming or ongoing trials
---------------------------------
Thomas Cashman - Started today 6th March.
(shooting)

OHalloran/Lee Derby trial - Summer
Oap murder

Gran killed 5yo - Trial april

Nicola Bulley inquest - June

Holly girl stabbed while with her bf - Summer?

Delhi murders Snapchat - unknown trial date

Uvalde school shooting i nquest I believe May?

There was a really sad case of a man called Alan Holmes who was attacked in his flat and lay undiscovered for almost 2 weeks. He was still just about alive when discovered but died the next day in hospital . There’s an old crimewatch reconstruction on YouTube about it.
Did that one happen over a Christmas period? I remember seeing a Crimewatch episode years ago about it and it was so awful it really stuck with me.

Re the tragic case of the five people in Wales over the weekend..
I live in Newport and have mutual friends with family members of some of the five. Watching this unfold over the weekend, it seemed that on the saturday the family members of the two boys from Cardiff were downplaying the concerned family members of the girls almost as if they were used to the boys going out for weekend, having little contact, not returning home etc. There were disagreements on post about them being missing however it seemed the family members of the girls all agreed to report them missing and it wasn’t until later the boys family reported them missing perhaps when they weren’t getting through to them either.
it’s common knowledge that the two boys shared the driving (posted by a friend who posted all he knew about the evening they went missing) and that they had both been drinking.
for the police it could have been difficult to decide the urgency of the missing case if you had family members of some of the 5 basically saying the others could be acting OTT.
As for the road they were found on, it’s just after a garden centre, fairly built up but there is a lot of dense woodland around the roundabout. The roundabout is on an adverse camber and one you wouldn’t want to approach at speed. My heart bleeds for the family who have lost loved ones and for the two who were stuck in the car. That garden centre is so busy on weekends, the amount of cars who would have driven past and didn’t see a thing.

This case happened in Ireland over the weekend.Last week a farmer in his 80s was acquitted of 20 sexual assault charges on a neighbour of his...the girl was young when the assault occurred...last Sunday her dad went to his local pub to enjoy a few pints as he always did but he was followed in by the farmers brother in law and another who taunted him in the pub about the not guilty verdict....that night the father went round to the farmers house with a gun and shot him dead.He then set the house on fire...
The farmer was supposedly a prolific abuser and also had more upcoming charges...There is a lot of support on Facebook for the father who did this for his only child,he was charged with murder today.

The problem is we all think "well done" but the reality will be he has to live with killing somebody and despite the circumstances will be sentenced and his family will suffer.
I watched a documentary on a famous case, that for the life of me I can't remember, where the young son was abducted by the weirdo and then the dad waited at a phone in the airport and when the police walked the guy passed he shot him in the head. All of it was caught on camera.
Anyway the sad aftermath was that the young boy, now a man, said his relationship with his dad suffered and they were never close again because of it. He resented his dad for doing it and being imprisoned. Also the dad suffered with his MH after.

Found it, the guy was Gary Plauche. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_Plauché

Absolutely terrible, how the duck was he acquitted of 20 charges and more to follow.. the judge on the case has a lot to answer for ( presuming it was a judge they acquitted him)... the poor father gonna spend the rest of his life in jail and this will be so traumatic for his daughter.. there are no winners in the case

do you know how both of them are doing in hospital?

Someone tried to abduct my child recently can't give too many details as outing. My husband wanted to go find the person who did it (I was the one with my child) whereas I take the view we need to be there for our child and not add to the pain. I understand in these cases why people want to take revenge but there's nothing to be gained from doing so.

Hang on, Im now doubting myself having watched it over and over again. Im wondering just as the accused goes off screen does she swing back and push the woman?
the clip that ran in the media on a loop stopped before that if you was skimming past that story but if you played it and watched it fully she's shouting, swearing and raises her arm ..then raises it again as the lady on the bike comes into view . i would imagine the poor bike rider thought she was going to hit and in a panic veered into the road.
The poor driver that hit her has had a breakdown and as a result her marriage has broken down.

Thanks for this update. This sounds so misogynistic. Girls’ parents had so many reasons to be concerned (history of drink driving, criminal conviction). It’s appalling that the police did not take them seriously and that the men’s families were hindering this. Just terrible.
