There are people who have killed pedestrians/ cyclists while under the influence of drink/drugs or while on their phone (albeit drivers, not difficult pedestrians) who get suspended sentences/very little jail time while, comparatively, this woman has had the book thrown at her.
Yeah I’ve been struggling to express my feelings on this case, but this sums up pretty much exactly how I feel about it.
I find the sentencing so mad because I’ve heard of people who have done similar things resulting the accidental death or injury of others, and they just get a suspended sentence or something. It just seems harsh in comparison.

But if it was the case that she pushed her, why isn’t this reflected in her conviction? Why are all of the media sources reporting that she has been convicted of manslaughter because she waved/shouted/gestured at the cyclist. Surely if she pushed her then headlines would read ‘pedestrian pushed cyclist into oncoming traffic’.
Because of her cerebral palsy they couldn’t dismiss the possibility that the pushing wasn’t intentional.

This is odd, 5 people all missing at the same time and no social media activity etc, hope they are found soon

Hope they’re all found safe and well.
I wonder if they maybe got into a dodgy taxi or something? 😬 Hopefully it’s nothing sinister.

https://news.sky.com/story/belgian-...uest-on-16th-anniversary-of-killings-12824186Mother who murdered her five children euthanised at own request - on 16th anniversary of killings

Anyone seen this one?

Yes, I found it interesting that under Belgian law people are allowed to choose to be euthanised if they are deemed to be suffering from 'unbearable' psychological, and not just physical, suffering that cannot be healed. I didn’t know that.

Is it ‘the easy way out?’ There’s something about it being her ‘choice’ to die that doesn’t sit right with me because those five children didn’t get a choice, they had their lives taken from them.

The 5 missing people in Cardiff is strange. Lots of posts on Facebook from family/friends of the missing girls. Mentions of them being at a caravan on the evening with the missing men, an altercation being heard etc. Very strange. Hopefully they’ve just went on a weekend bender and nobody has come to any sort of harm.

It must be a crash somewhere, surely?

They were traveling around, to/from Newport and Cardiff, supposedly. Would they need to go close to the water for that?

i live in the area and, depending on route, yes (most of south wales is on the coast and so you’d be driving near bays/marinas etc for a lot of it). the motorway is the easier route but maybe they were avoiding it.

it seems to me like it’s a crash sadly and the vehicle just isn’t visible atm :(

I'd thought a crash too but the above puts a whole different spin on things. I hope they're ok but it doesn't seem likely at this stage.

Hi new to the posts I think unless I've commented before and forgot but true crime is such an interest of mine. I have a feeling the people missing in Cardiff is a crash too. Just seems the most likely option out of ones I've seen out forward elsewhere atm.

someone on fb has confirmed the car has been found in a ditch outside cardiff (linked on the missing persons thread) :( driver dead and others in a critical condition apparently, i can’t imagine them having been trapped there in this cold weather we’ve had this weekend.

I saw that but it’s just a random person that’s commented it, it’s not from any family/friends or anyone involved in the search.

Just seen a comment from a friend saying nothing has been found/confirmed.

This reminds me I still need to watch part 2 of the documentary on ch4. from what I saw I didn’t think he came across very well and why is his son who’s only known him since 2017 so involved? His other son didn’t appear at all in the first episode.

Lots of people not convinced that it is his legitimate son but just another fame hungry bleep keeping them both in the limelight.

I saw that too. I wonder if it's true, the poor things
Nothing in any of the Wales papers on line or the police. Still asking for information.
