As far as I know it’s not gone ahead because this group keep taking legal action. It’s my understanding that it’s been endorsed by all political parties unless something has changed. Watched an interview with MON recently enough and she said all parties were united on it but that was before Dublin pledged money to build it, maybe that’s an issue for some.
Regardless of my feelings for or against a UI I would take a freebie. Particularly if it means people are safer. Anything that makes us more safe or more attractive to tourist should be a good thing.

Oul Jeff has to forfeit the taxpayer funded London pad.

not being funny but is there one of those online quizzes that you can do to see what party's policies you align with most? I tend to vote Alliance historically (come from a mixed family, no political affiliation to anything but not SF/DUP voters) - and am married to a staunch SF voter. I don't know who to go for and have had so much going on recently that I haven't had time to research.

I think it is called political compass. It would be good in theory except I don’t believe the elected representatives will do anything they claim.
BTW no surprises there have been no canvassers out.

Yes there’s one here https://votecompass.com/

Check this out.

Remember this is a FPTP election so you get one "X" and the most votes wins. That means tactical voting comes into play. For example, I would be more aligned with the Green Party politically however they haven't a hope in hell of winning in my constituency (North Down) which is a two horse race between Alliance and an Independent Unionist.

I will vote Alliance as they are the candidate I want as my MP rather than the other front runner.

Does that make sense?

Our assembly elections are PR so your vote goes further and you can safely vote for smaller parties.

Just curious and not having a go but do you think farry will do a good job in ND? From what I gather from friends ND is not great but maybe that is more to do with the local council than the sitting MP. I just get the impression he doesn’t do much for locals, but I am sure the same could be said about others.
I am feeling a bit weird going in to spoil my ballot as. I don’t want to but I don’t feel I have any other choice in EB.

I had a wee go on votecompass and was adrift in a political wilderness…

I did it the other day when I was drunk and it said I was to the right of the TUV so either I am a secret fascist or I clicked the wrong buttons when drunk 🥴

Lol I came out of the vote compass thing 72% SDLP, 69% SF and 67% Alliance. Honestly think my hubby would rather me vote DUP over SDLP...
I would sooner vote Sinn Fein than alliance these days.
