When does it stop please 🤣

Never watched so much daytime tv but sat here cuddling baby watching the news when there’s the hit and run and a 2 year old died, and parents murdering their children just gets to me now. I can’t get my head around it 😭😭😭😭
I remember watching the news about a baby being hit by a car in the pram while out for a walk with Mum. Mum was in a coma and didn’t know baby hadn’t lived. I couldn’t take my baby for a walk by the road for ages.
Then a young celebrity that looked like my OH died was an acquaintance with two young kids’ partner passed away in an accident it sent me completely spiralling that something horrific was going to happen.
Having a baby does something weird to your concept of mortality and fears. I’d honestly avoid the news if you’re feeling at all fragile in that regard!

Must’ve been around 12 weeks!! Loads of stuff improves around that mark (and then you get new stuff unleashed it’s brill 🫠).

I couldn’t bear the news but I’ve watched several different series of real housewives having baby cuddles. Now he’s awake more than he sleeps so any telly is just background noise at this point 😭

I’m worrried my 6.5 weeker is already a screen kid - she loves staring at the TV whether it’s switched on or off!! I’m wondering if I should stop watching it while I feed her 😂

My 17 day old daughter is also a noisy sleeper through the night, I’m constantly thinking right this is her waking for a feed I walk around the bed (she’s in Moses next to oh- I like the radiator bed side 😂 ) and she’s fast asleep 🙈 precious sleep I could still be having - last night I was up from 2.30 thinking she’s waking and she didn’t until 4am. She was just squeezing out some trumps and wiggling her legs in her sleep 🙈

Took baby to the doctors today to get her congestion looked at (all normal congestion from the womb and no signs a cold thank goodness), the doctor asked me if we’d been doing anything to help with her nose and I confidently said yeah the calpol nasal drops and the frida snot sucker. When I tell you this woman did not have a clue what I was talking about and gave me the most disgusted look 🫠

the absolute shame of having to describe the frida snot sucker kill me now

Not the baby but my middle has been known to sing in her sleep and when she first started babbling she would say mama or dada over the monitor and we'd think she was awake only to go in to her and she's fast asleep

Any ones toddler love drinking juice (it’s actually water) my wee girl necks it and she’s had a few wet through nappies now she does seem quite thirsty and I’m concerned about diabetes she hasn’t lost weight and isnt hungry or very tired

Has anyone got any advice on starting combi feeding?
I’m currently ebf but I can’t see a future with it. I do like the fact it’s milk on tap but it’s becoming a nuisance (selfishly for me) and I’d really like dad to do a feed or 2 to give me a break 😩

Slow and steady as you don't want to get mastitis or clogged duct. What I did was pick a feed and give a bottle have that for a few days and then slowly drop the next feed and so on. The last feeds I dropped was the morning and night .. as you introduce more bottles they might stop feeding as less.. if you feel extremely full then you can pump or hand express a little for comfort. Plenty of advive and help to try bf but stopping is a little more tricky

Thank you, yes every page I read for advice on how to slow bf down always beginning with a huge blurb of why you should bf and contacting support etc. I’ve done all that, but what I really want is a bit of sanity and having dad do some feeds will hopefully give me that!

I will try the slow and sensible route as you mentioned, I’ll drop 1 a day to begin with.

You can feel incredibly touched out and it's overwhelming to be completely in charge of the child's milk supply. It's draining .

I will also say there is an emotional side to it too I was incredibly emotional but Its all normal.
.just keep reminding yourself that you've done a great job and tell dad it's his turn now to do a bit of work 🌝🌝🌝

Does anyone else’s little one poop during the night? He’s 8 months now, still has a dream feed at 11om and we’ve just recently dropped the 3am feed. He sleeps from about 7-2 and then I’ll pat his bum back to sleep and he will stay asleep until 6ish. If he wakes between 3 and 6 though he will generally poop and then that means a nappy change and then we may as well start our day at that point cause he’s wide awake. This happens every 2 or 3 nights. Wondering is there a way to stop the poops? 😅 would cutting down the dream feed help maybe?

We have sized up in nappies and have had a couple of leaking incidents. It’s usually when he does a poo, the wee then leaks up his back. Any suggestions on how to stop it?

Also my baby is a month old and I am still extremely irritable. My husband today said it’s easy having a baby and he can do most stuff he did before. Yes, that’s because he’s still going to work, has had a few nights out, still going to the gym and can pop out when he wants. I did say a lot has changed for me and he defended himself saying he still works, again yes, but I’m tending to baby all night and day. Really pissed me off!

Baby girl had a four and half hour wake window this afternoon. By the end we were both looking at each other like this because we just did not know what to do anymore

What brand are you using? I found size 1 Aldi was great but size 2 just didn’t work with Baby Lava’s body shape. Maybe try the size up in a different brand?

Omg don’t even. That would piss me off sooo much. Men have no clue x

If it’s so easy he can take a days holiday to give you a break. It won’t be difficult for him at all will it 🙄

What did you put your newborns to sleep in please? It just occurred to me we don’t have anything other than cellular blankets etc! I’m wondering about buying love to dream swaddles as the sleep sacks will be too big I think 🤔
