I feel you guys - our baby is 6 weeks and we’ve had a couple where it’s just relentless. I’d say try:

- burping positions, as many as you can find on Google
- loud music and or white noise, much louder than you think
- a drive in the car or a bath
- lots of milk - ours literally wanted 3x bottles of formula in a row which I was worried about giving but she was basically cluster feeding and extremely hungry, which can feel counterintuitive but might work.

Anyone who has had a c section, did you have/ wear any specific garments after?!

I’m thinking of buying some as I already know my stomach muscles were weak and have stretched right out during pregnancy and I’m getting a lot of pain from it, and I’m after anything that will help with the recovery

I’ve seen a Frida mom support garment but I don’t know if they are just gimmicks. Thanks 💙

The 1 month old and the 18 month old have decided to tag team and not sleep. Of course it happens on the one night my husband is away at a conference. Currently 2.51am and as soon as one shuts her eyes and goes to sleep the others pop open. How do they do it?!?!?!

I didn't, just full briefs but that was to not to rub my scar!
Are you still taking pain relief regularly?

I didn’t buy anything for my tummy however when physio visited me bedside after the brith they checked my ab separation and gave me a tube support to wear. It’s just like a big stretchy tube bandage cut from a length.
I got my own black surgical socks as our trust recommended you wear them for quite a long time after the section (week or two) but lots on here took theirs straight off no problem. I guess if you feel you have higher risk of DVT they might be worthwhile.

I thought the Frida Mom was just gimmick but I know someone on here used it and liked it. I find as a brand they have some great products and then a load of really overpriced stuff that plays on insecurities of new Mums so maybe I’m biased about the brand but the free tube support did the job, when I remembered to wear it which wasn’t that often tbh.

I Highly recommend scar plasters for once the scar is closed and healing to keep it soft and itching at bay.

Anyone got any tips on how to get baby to drink formula? We were breastfeeding until my mental health took a dive and now I'm expressing (not much as think the mental health issues are affecting my production) and we were mainly using Aptamil ready made bottles as the hospital had provided us with a load of them. Now we are trying to use the Aptamil formula and he is barely taking it. Think he is too used to the ready made stuff, does anyone have any tips on how to transition him over?

We did a mix of breastmilk and readymade formula, 25% formula, then equal, then 75% formula and finally full formula so he could get used to the taste. Took about a week or so to switch over but you could do it quicker. Are you still able to express some breast milk?

Did anyone here do mostly expressing? I know I'm only a week in, but I'm just not enjoying breast feeding at all. I know the hospital was trying to help, but I really resented every nurse who came by and trying to push my nipple into my baby's mouth. And even at home, I just can't get into it.

I've been expressing so far but I know that once he grows, he's going to need a lot and expressing will be hard work.

I had the frida mom belt with the ice pack if that’s the one you’ve seen? I found it helpful. And my own compression socks cus the hospital ones are minging because you’re so sweaty after birth but I needed them for a couple of weeks because I swelled from the hips down. Other than that loose clothing. My MW told me to to get pants 4 sizes bigger than normal and I laughed at her and felt like Humpty Dumpty when I put them on but they were amazing after my csection.

I think @Elle Woods has done a lot of expressing for her baby. She may have some advice if she sees this 😊

Thanks everyone! I have bad ab separation and physio have said they will help me if it’s still the same after about 8 weeks after birth but I feel like I need that extra support

My baby refused to latch from 12 weeks on the dot, I continued to express until he was 5 months and had a supply to wean him onto formula at 6 months. I had an Elvie pump which was fantastic, but I won’t lie it was really hard! I would highly recommend investing in a good quality pump and electric steriliser to make things as easy as possible.

I combi fed expressed & formula as I just couldn’t get my supply up enough match his needs, stopped around 12w as it was taking its toll mentally.

There’s some fb groups and insta pages out there which might be helpful. Quite a lot of American guidance as they are HUGE on pumping so don’t be disheartened if you see loads of American women with gallons of milk it’s wild.

Expressing every 2ish hours at first and the middle of the night pump is key. You can hire hospital grade wall pumps which are more effective than wearables, or your HV might know about a loan scheme in your area (there’s one in mine).

However you choose to feed your baby is HARD, you have to just do what is right for you!

Sorry ladies this question has probably been done to death but did anyone who occasionally bottle fed their baby recommend the best way of sterilising?

I BF baby 1 as she mostly refused bottles (not for lack of trying) so we made do with the MAM microwaveable bottles as it was max 2 per day. I also got the medela microwaveable pouches for sterilising my pump but IDK if I’m missing a trick here. Is there a better way? The other options look convenient but I don’t reaaaally want to buy something expensive if #2 ends up being like her sister!

Me! I hated BF and baby wouldn’t latch without causing extreme pain. I’m expressing and formula feeding. I’ve managed to get my supply up a lot (around 170ml per pump around 4-5 times a day) so if you put the effort in now it’ll pay off!

We use the Milton tablets and a saucepan of cold water. It stays for 24 hours so just change it every morning
