Hey we found it ok but we found omeprazole a lot better. Gaviscon was making him constipated.
Does omeprazole not make him constipated? How do you give the omeprazole?

No it didn’t (he doesn’t have it anymore). We were prescribed the suspension version which we used to put in his bottle or into his water.Does omeprazole not make him constipated? How do you give the omeprazole?
Was his widge pointing down when you put the nappy on?So I changed baby B less than an hour and popped him in the jumperoo while I was feeding his sister.. he started getting very ratty and irritated so took him out and his leggings were soaked!! Nappy was only a little bit wet and his vest bone dry. This is the 2nd time he’s done it only last time he was pantless abd there was an actual puddle of pee underneath him. Nappy 100% was on him right but has anyone else experienced this because we’re baffled

I think it’s something to do with how they are in the Jumparoo? Be thankful it wasn’t a poo
I don’t think we ever experienced any leaks but unfortunately there were a couple of poopsploshions ..
Did anyone find their baby got some relief from silent reflux using infant gaviscon? I’m going to talk to my Gp about it next week but I know they will try to fob me off with trying different formula or something like that so want to go in prepared. I know it doesn’t need a prescription but baby is only 4 months old and box says to have not take under guidance of a doctor. Baby is on a comfort formula which has definitely helped with the gassiness but seems to still be really struggling when laying flat.
Omeprazole did the trick with our wee one until we found a formula he could tolerate. Once we found that we were able to stop the meds for silent reflux and colic.
What formula worked for you in the end?
We had this with our little boy, probably around a similar age. We literally tried everything as he did have bad silent reflux, gaviscon, omeprazole, then lactulose as he was constipated, then nutramigen formula then neocate. I really struggled as he is our first but I knew something wasn’t right, he would rarely ever finish his bottles and would mostly have 60 or 70ml then be finished we eventually swapped to SMA anti reflux which helped as I think it probably tasted a lot better (after we could rule out CMA), but he would still rarely finish the bottle. I just had to accept he wouldn’t drink as much which is so hard. Can you try paced feeding? Is he struggling with constipation at all and that’s maybe why he doesn’t want it? I feel like things didn’t get better for us until he was weaning, we had such a difficult milk journey from breast and formula. Sorry that’s not much help but understand what you’re going through! XHi all just after a bit of advice if possible
Baby number 2 has become so hard to feed. He’s on 6oz of Kendamil each feed and about 4 weeks ago started to get some kind of bottle / milk refusal / wind / god knows what it is. He turns his head away every couple of gulps, cries, arches his back. He’s currently 12 weeks old. Moved onto teat size 2 at about 6 weeks old (he’s a chunky one and size 1 teat was making him fall asleep, as advised by HV) however I have now moved back to teat size 1 as I was wondering if the flow was too fast. I also have started using infacol which seems to help a tiny bit. He is generally a very happy baby but during feeds he is not. It’s giving me such bad anxiety for every feed, it’s taking forever cos of the refusal. He will eventually decide he wants it and might have 3/4 of the bottle. But he used to drain 6oz no issues. I have no idea what the problem could be. He isn’t sick at all so I’m thinking it’s not reflux? But the arching of the back makes me think it is? He is a little bit burpy when I wind him during the feed but nothing extreme. I’m literally at my wits end I don’t know what to do for the best. Do you think a change of formula could be next? Thanks in advance sorry for the rambling post. My first baby was such a good feeder I had no issues so I feel clueless with this xx

That’s literally the same as me! I have to reheat it half way through cos he will not have it at room temp. It’s taking so long when it never used to! I have bought size 3, but then I wondered if size 2 was too fast so that’s why I’ve started size 1. I have however just bought a dr browns anti colic bottle and used it for the first time and he took 5oz no issues with only a few burping sessions. I have a feeling it’s defo bottle / teat related cos he doesn’t have any constipation, he’s pooing every day and he is happy all other times. But like you I am now dreading feeds it’s giving me such bad stress and then I wonder if he can sense my tension.I could have written this. I have a very willful baby who at 12 weeks started refusing the bottle teat after about 60mls, the rest of the feed would be a battle. At 13 weeks I went up a teat size to Mam size 3 (we use comfort formula so it’s thicker and baby learned to handle it quickly) and I also started warming the bottle up after the first refusal and baby would generally take it. Still have the issue occasionally but much better than before. Every feed was a fight, it was destroying me and I was dreading every bottle.
Thank you for your reply! I do do paced feeding however it wasn’t such a big thing with my first so I do sometimes forget however I must make sure I do it! I’m seeing my HV on Monday so I’m going to ask her as well, incase it’s something glaringly obvious that I can’t seeWe had this with our little boy, probably around a similar age. I spoke too soon. Only took 3 ounce with his bedtime bottle and only took 4 now, yet he’s biting his hands and the muslin. He’s visibly hungry. So frustrating not knowing what the issue isYes I used to forget to do paced feeding too there’s so much to think about when they’re screaming! that’s good he’s taken it with a different bottle, maybe that’s the issue? Fingers crossed with the new bottle he’ll continue to drink more!!
12 weeks old chewing his hands might just be teeth and discovery of his hands using his mouth, we went through similar at about the same age where she went off her bottles and only drank half for about a week. I rang my mom and she said if the baby was hungry she would screamI spoke too soon. Only took 3 ounce with his bedtime bottle and only took 4 now, yet he’s biting his hands and the muslin. Omg you are thinking the same as me only we are march so thinking about trying again in about 6 months are we crazy??Soooooo, I know there’s no ‘best’ age gap, but for those that have more than one child- opinions on a 2 year age gap? All being well I’d like to start trying for baby no.2 in the autumn, and if I fall as quickly as I did the first time, they’d be due almost exactly 2 years after my first was born. Of course it could take longer meaning the gap would be bigger, but as a minimum it would be 2 years can’t work out if I’m mad or not hahahahelp
