I do have my suspicions and if it is what I think then it makes sense what he hasn’t been back or did a video message. I think if it was something like mobility or hearing/sight loss then adaptations would be done to allow him to take part(if he wanted to).

As for missing characters and different edits.

The UK has often had a slightly different edit to Australia. I can definitely remember it being talked about when they first did late night episodes (think aus didn’t get a 10pm post watershed episode like the uk did so the UK got bonus scenes) reading between the lines I don’t feel I’ve missed out on anything important or lost out on anything.

The “missing” characters I can’t really explain. I know some actors have fallen out with the show and some have moved on so weren’t available at short notice but the lack of Timmins seemed odd (even if we’d just got stingray as a ghost). I’ve seen claims that people weren’t asked and other claims the call went out to everyone.

Yeah there will always be stores like Scott McGregor (mark Brennan) tweeted he wasn’t asked when someone asked why he wasn’t there.

I think even if it was that some got asked some didn’t surely if someone wasn’t asked but wanted to go back I wouldn’t have thought they would refuse. Especially seeing as some were just background. For example Could’ve easily had mark walking with his arm round paige at the end.

thing is there will always be characters that were missed/actors who couldn’t be included for whatever reason. But given the short time and the number of characters from over the years I do think they did really well. They also had various current storylines to wrap up and current characters to give endings to.

it would’ve been nice for the Timmins to be represented even just in the book. I may be wrong but I don’t think we saw anything about any of them at all.
a wee scene of janae Lucas and bea would’ve been nice.
 
While the media don't speculate so it's all hearsay there is probably some truth in Tom Oliver being unwell. If he had cancer or mobility issues I reckon he would have still filmed a tiny cameo. Looks like he probably couldn't be trusted to remember lines even if they were written down for him....

Anyone watch the hour after of Neighbours pop hits? FIVE songs between Jason and Kylie was overkill. Born To Try is twenty years old next year bloody hell. Rogue Traders was underrated and we got Stefan Dennis.

In fairness though Kylie and Jason had the back catalogue to fill the hour. Many of the others were pretty much one hit wonders. Rogue traders is such a great song, also liked Mona too.

Mini series/specials could work. The Soap Days of our Lives has been doing special spinoffs of self contained storylines & using ex & current cast.

The Kylie thing was just weird. Do they really pay by the word. That kinda let it down for me.

The episode was beautifully written 🤍. I enjoyed it so much.

I remember when I was going through a hard time Neighbours (& h&a) were my escape, that time in my day where I felt at peace. I have looked forward to watching neighbours everyday since 2018. I watched it in the 2000s whilst I was at school but from about 2014-2018 I dipped out of it. I know it’s a show but I feel like I lost a friend.

When I left the UK and moved abroad, I practically became a tech guru (not really 😂) struggling with VPNS and all the rest just to get my daily dose of neighbours.

It wasn’t a show on it’s last legs and I genuinely hope we can see some revival 🤞🏼.
