I’ve watched it since it started on bbc1 tea time, so about 35 years so it’s a big part of my life ended.

Me too (although I think I properly remember stortlines from about 89). Don't worry, you're not alone. It's a massive part of my routine too and I'm not sure how I'll deal with it.
Maybe those who are struggling a bit with the change can chat here for a while.

She's Northen Irish I think. So the accent is a bit blended. It does sound a bit American at times.

I felt like they were in it too much and didn't need to be there, completely pointless return. There were so many better characters and actors that should have been in the final that weren't
 
I haven't watched Neighbours since it moved to Channel 5 but I couldn't resist watching over the last few weeks to see the old cast come back. My main era was Toadie, Billy, Lance, Amy, Joel etc but I'd watched it since the Kylie and Jason era (Charlene was my first girl crush and I cried when she left!)

I thought it was really well written and Jackie Woodburn in particular played a blinder. I loved Karl and Susan back in the day so I did have a tear in my eye by the end, especially when we saw Madge and Doug. Great to see Philip Martin too, though have no idea why he was there!
 
Aww I thought the finale was great especially Mike & Jane visiting the old houses and taking a chance 🥰 very disappointed in the Scott and Charlene cameo, as someone said on Twitter did Kylie lose her voice that day?! I guess I just expected more 🙈

It's weird because I haven't watched properly for years but it was such a big part of my childhood and I feel really sad. It's definitely the end of an era.
 
Well, yes, i was a major fan of neighbours, right from the beginning! now that final week was an emotional rollercoaster, seeing 80s clips and see how young and how much fun it was back then. Scott and Charlene, were a bit disappointing, i so wish they had more lines with the other cast. i mean where did the green mini they drove in, disappear to during the wedding scenes at the end?

Yeah I’ve just watched the Australian version and they had a slightly different edit to the one we had in the UK.

As well as the bits you mentioned, the end credits with the different versions of the theme and the photos from the past was a bit longer on the Aus version and the very last scene after the credits with the overhead shot of everyone waving on the street was different. On the UK version there was a few people waving with big gaps but on the Aus version the street was rammed full of people waving
 
Late to the party as would you believe it I fell asleep so had to watch it on catch up! Really glad people are staying on the Street. I had got my head around why the script writers might be doing the all moving storyline, but still was not a fan of it so glad we can think of them all living in Ramsay St still. I am glad Terese and Paul are back together, for some reason I wanted Paul to be happy at the end (not sure why!) I have just seen an article with some "Easter egg" things from last few weeks, some went over my head it's worth a read.. I will miss this thread but if we hear of anyone from Neighbours doing anything we can always slip it on this thread as someone else suggested. I was going to note down the last word said in a note book as I had the first. Although Kylie was practically mute (I think she was paid by the word!) she said "Harold" near the end, but not sure if it was the last. It's an excuse to have another listen anyway. I liked the fact that Sam turned out to be Mike's daughter that was nice and also liked the fact that that Mick didn't turn up again. I kept expecting him to!

Where did you watch the Oz version sand please can you share the link?
I presume the awful C5 execs decided to cut out version down.

If you look on You Tube there is one that has yesterday's earlier episode in it too. It was posted early yesterday so it is the Aussie version.. I did just watch the ending on that version and I think it was Karl that said the last audiable word which was "Toad" as the balloon went up in the air. Susan said the last sentence. I am glad didn't want Charlene to have the last word (especially when she didn't say much anyway!)

Yeah I hoped it would be Karl or Susan would have the last word. They’d said it was Susan but actually it was Karl. I liked how they did Susan’s monologue so was like her writing in the book.

Yes it was a lovely piece of writing.. I will definitely be watching that Aussie version in full at some point. Oh well it's just Emmerdale for me now, I don't mind it but just doesn't have the appeal of Neighbours!.

Here’s the oz version of the last 2 episodes. Just had a quick watch and there’s bits cut in the uk version of the video messages. Beth does say hi to ned. Skye sends a message too.

Mal was another of my favourite neighbours men. He and Lucas didn’t look as good this time as the last time they returned. Mike looks better now than when he was last on. Loved seeing all the old characters reminiscing and spending time together. Wish the episode had been longer.
 
Watched it last night for old times sake, most of the flashbacks etc were a bit before my time but I loved it back in the 90s even visited the street when I was in Australia :LOL: Howold was Guy Pearce when he was in it originally?
