Oh I’m enjoying the solidarity of everyone here. I had started to think "is it me" re style and beauty boards.
Anyway, there's a corker on AIBU by a woman whose MIL broke a mug. She can't even look at her husband, she's so angry, because he said he didn't like it anyway.
The husband in this situation literally couldn't win, he's probably gutted the mug got broke because then it causes a conversation to be had about it, and he is the bad guy no matter what!

He doesn't like the mug but he pretends to to keep his wife happy, cos you know it's a mug, not worth risking being posted about on MN "Bought DH a DMug and he hates it, AIBU to think that means he hates me?", so he's not arsed about it getting broke = wife "betrayed and can't even look at him"

He loves the mug but loves his mum more so chooses to shrug it off and not upset her = wife "betrayed and can't even look at him".

Poor fella!

Get your ducks in a row he must be cheating
poor sod.
am I the only one who doesn’t give two shits if my husband stays out beyond his curfew and I don’t hear from him? My husband must be cheating.

Your allow your husband out?! I won’t allow mine out because we have a 173 month old at home and what if we need him?

I’ve just read the cup thread. My first thought is this is a joke but I don’t think it is!

max Mara is one of my mother’s favoured “classy” outfitters, along with country casuals and “designers” like Jaques Vert you used to get in house of Fraser. For middle aged, mid budget women who think their look is “timeless class”.

that droopy and browns stuff looks like a very tit version of the Laura Ashley dresses we all wore with DM’s circa 1990.

I’m 40 and would not be seen dead in that dress.

The Droopy & Brown dresses remind of a family friend who had heard that I was going to the prom at 17 and brought round some dresses of that style that she thought I might like to wear.

Also the child benefit thread reminds me of Adrian Mole where he asks his mum about the child benefit she gets for him as by rights, it should be his. She tells him she squanders it on gin and buying cigarettes 🚬 😂

On a thread in money matters where a poster is suspicious of mumsnet being full of people earning over £100k...

"Articulate"
So funny. Also even if it is the case that MN is full of ‘articulate’ people (which I disagree with) - I know lots of ‘articulate’ people who work in not-for-profits, healthcare, education, and the arts who earn well below 100K.

ive gone down a droopy browns rabbit hole. There is an appreciation page on Facebook.Real inspo for that sexy office party…

Lol, they always bring up Droopy & Browns, it's the Monty Don thread regulars, usually punctuated by a little bit of Floisme (nice enough lady) and Natasha bleeping Prancing. I don't think even the most hardened sack lovers take any notice of her really. On the one hand she declares she can't afford to spend on new clothes and only buys used frilly frocks, but on the other loves to advise people to purchase £4K balloon sleeved atrocities from small label, obscure brands with broken interfaces on their websites (essentially a sign of artiness im sure).

laughing my tits off catching up with this thread from page 1 here! Had a tit day and smiling now :)

The can I fire my nanny cos she’s pregnant is a ride. The way she talks about the nanny being ill and what an inconvenience it is for them again shows total lack of empathy. I can’t imagine leaving my kids with someone all day I gave no fucks about

She can't wait to go NC with the Dnanny!

I hope the next nanny is more 'reliable' so she can attend court when the current nanny sues her. What will OP tell the employment tribunal 😂
