She did say that she's friends with many of them. I wonder who?

That could be, or it could just be she's met many of them. These folks all seem to call each other their friends, to me, it's often just so they seem more familiar on videos together.

I do think it's funny when vloggers talk all woe is me about "haters", and they certainly exist, but 1) they choose to be in the public eye and 2) wouldn't this be the same way she talks with her "friends" about the actual state of WDW or another place or pricing off camera.

And, for that matter, then they shouldn't have negative videos/thumbnails, should they?

So are the mods in the discord thing the folks from Twitch? Like how does someone become a mod there, be a certain level of Patreon or something?
They are the same yes. Basically they got people to apply and picked at random? I can say they never reached out to people that applied and didn’t get it. I also got the vibe they picked a lot of people that seemed to be able to be around all the time. The one exception is Saffron who I believe was a mod for Max prior to MC start.

I just feel like they got a bunch of yes men to help them run things and I personally find them all too much and it’s made me pull back a lot. At this point I half heartedly watch the content and that’s about it.

Wasn't Molly invited to the media event for the new escape rooms at Universal? I believe she was in the same group as Dev and Jackie. Has she posted her video of that? The event was a couple weeks go. Maybe she considers them friends.

Maybe.

Seems like a legitimate course of action for a business.
That says to me why they keep Max on, I haven't seen people here who genuinely like Molly say they think he's great.
Edit: I think they chose names they recognize as Stans for the mods.

She did post an escape room video, she couldn't post inside the rooms though (makes sense) so we didn't really get any footage with anyone else there.

$30k a month (rounded up) from Patreon sure isn't average: https://graphtreon.com/creator/mammothclub

Don't give her too much credit, she basically stole an existing audience and said "pay me" and enough idiots who don't care about $10 a month for less content than they got free from all ears decided her grift was worthy enough to latch onto. I'm convinced she doesn't have a long term goal here. Videos are completely phoned in and hack job and ape everything all ears was/is still doing. This is not about breaking molds and pursuing her art or any of that other tit. This is about making as much money as she can right now so that in a couple years she can "walk away" again and retire early. Ever notice how little $30k a month gets you the viewer? tit, Super Enthused spends more on her videos and just going out and doing tit. What's Molly up to? Ooh, an old fashioned at the Polite Pig? Park day with a $100 limit? The duck? Audio that sucks, video quality no better, worse editing, where is all the bleeping money going?

Her content will grow more and more stale and when Patreon seems to be finally drying up she's out and probably won't even make it a long goodbye. duck Molly.

They love the public eye when it's super chats and dono's and Patreon and ad sense revenue, and just free money and hotel rooms, but don't dare ask the wrong thing, or call them bleeping grifters.

Seriously, I think the day Molly features ANY other relevant vloggers in her videos will be when hell freezes over. She won't even say all ears by name. It's just "other brands". I hate on Morrow a lot, but at least he's very happy to lift others up by having them in his videos. The point is, if you're expecting some kind of collab to occur, keep dreaming.

I saw that Molly liked a post of Ordinary Adventures recently on Instagram and was surprised as they don’t strike me as “friends.” I wonder if she actually watches their videos. If she does, how is she not struck by how high their audio and video quality is compared to her’s? And aren’t they one of these intrusive and disruptive vloggers with big fancy equipment that Alan alluded to in his AMA? Does she think OA is unsafe because they share where they stay ahead of time and vlog more mundane parts of their trip like getting from the airport to the resort? Seems she should be aspiring to be one of their friends and share some of their 300k audience, but as pointed out above, the long term plan is unclear. I don’t think she wants to be OA at all. I wonder if you’re right and she will do this a couple years and then fade away.

Well Max’s trivia managed to turn me from a Molly stan into a “miserable self-righteous” person who hides behind a gossip forum. I may have grown bored of her videos in time and had some constructive criticism, but it was really Max’s attitude problem and stealing from other creators that turned me off and made me seek out a forum to share my discontent. I even reached out to Max in a dm before going to Discord, and he really didn’t take my concern about the plagiarism seriously, nor was it ever addressed in the stream. Instead he continued to plagiarize questions from multiple websites instead of just one. Had he and his Twitch not been involved I may have continued on as part of Mam Fam happily. I wonder if anyone else has had Max turn them off the whole brand!

I wonder what the story is with him. I feel like that has to be the case. His stupid handle, and the fact he convinced them to use Twitch without creating their own account says to me he thought he'd get a bump from that. Again, I feel like maybe Alan knows him from school or something and he's the guy who just comes over without calling and hangs out too long and they feel like they have to include him.

Max might be the creative force behind the channel but kind of doubting that. Maybe he has blackmail material on them?

How exactly are they grifting? Are they doing something fake somewhere? No way I'd pay them $15 a month but apparently nearly 2,000 people do.

They're asking for monthly support while giving little in return.

An overpriced sticker?! Weeeeee!

The story is he and Alan became friends working at Disney. Alan was an entertainer, and Max was in entertainment management. They bonded over d&d and football. Alan was already dating Molly when he met Max. It seems Max was the one that pushed for Twitch, given he and Alan had accounts already and were quite active. I can only imagine his own Twitch subscribers have increased due to his association with MC. How him doing a live stream on his own channel from his dad’s place in Tennessee on a Saturday night factors into MC finances I don’t really understand though.

His followers only list as 7.6k, so he was lower than that? What does he do now? If the management of their channel/business is any indicator, I'd say he's not very good. What did Alan do in entertainment? I ask because he doesn't seem very dynamic. This is not a toot my own horn or a flex, but I worked in a regional theatre for about 15 years, so I've seen and worked with great performers and that's where my opinion of him is coming from. Although, occasionally great performers aren't personally very dynamic or exciting. The great ones are great onstage and interacting with people.

Although they have been hesitant to discuss it on streams for fear of ruining the magic for little ones who are apparently watching, Alan played Gaston.

Your professional opinion is interesting to read, and makes me think of the Broadway Bradshaws, especially Jared who is extremely talented and also incredibly charismatic on camera when at the parks with his family. Makes sense as he literally is a Broadway star and now a Disney performer.

In my opinion between Max and Alan, Alan has the better on camera personality. In the last trio video there were times when Max was just staring off camera while Molly talked about something. He also said it was challenging to do the Japan Nintendo World video and came out of the experience with mad respect for Molly, which is interesting given that at the end of the day none of them are doing their own editing. All he had to do was shoot and talk.

Now Max works for Riot Games, apparently as an instructor onboarding team members. I think that’s why he’s more comfortable doing lecture style Twitch streams and Kahoot activities because those are skills he applies in his day job. I don’t remember what his following was before MC launched but I was attending his trivia before and it was only around 150-200 people. After launch that went up to the thousands when Molly would join him. I think the last trivia I attended was around 500 and it was just him.

So, even with all the people joining for the livestreams, seems like few are following him, they're just going to see Molly, frankly.
If he's onboarding people, that sounds like he's not necessarily creating that material but presenting it. I'd never heard of Kahoot before. I just think Max seems like dead weight. Was Alan a meet and greeter or in the show at Hollywood Studios? I think the correct Disney terminology (which they all should've known) is that he's a friend of Gaston.

For clarity, I'm not an actor, I worked as a sound engineer, but when we'd do our gala fundraisers, I was the one running it for the talent we'd bring in. To relate to Disney, one year we had Susan Egan (original Belle on Broadway) and she was as lovely as she could be to everyone there and of course a phenomenal performer.

I have no idea specifically what Alan did, and you’re right I have heard them use that terminology before when talking about princesses. I learned he was Gaston from I think a Reddit post. He did a cheeky indirect Instagram post about it once too. Kahoot is a quiz app that I’m familiar with as a college instructor. So I assume he uses it like we do to make presentation material more interactive. And yes, maybe that is his problem is that he is more used to presenting than creating. On the other hand, when Molly hosted trivia it was clear she wrote all the questions herself.

I also feel like the amount of people that join when Molly helps host versus when it’s just Max hosting goes up. Molly being involved brings more people. The last few I bothered to tune in for were ones where she helped and I’m sure I’m not alone in that.

I will agree to disagree. If someone pays $25 a month and gets a sticker that's on the people paying*. I don't see any fraud involved. I don't see the value either and their numbers are slowly dropping so will wait and see where their situation goes.

*If their audience is full of people that can't afford it then perhaps it is a grift but I have no way to know what paying customers they attract.

Agreed and all patreons outline what you get at each monthly amount and you can cancel whenever you want. If you don’t feel like they’re providing value to you, cancel … but it’s not like an MLM or something.

I don’t think it’s necessarily “grifting” but I do kind of think they take advantage of lonely people using terms like “club” “mam fam” etc without really having a true club or social atmosphere.

Though at the end of the day they aren’t forcing anyone to do anything.

No, but you’re right they do play on that. Another is community. When it’s used for someone to make money that’s where it lacks taste.
To me, all that comes across as “pay me to be your friend”.
