Personally I wouldn't sink that kind of money in a place I would only live in temporarily. I've been in my place for around 5 years- thankfully it came fully furnished and the only things I've bought to decorate have been posters, tinsel and ikea stick on butterfly stickers. I read these - it's a council flat so she's guaranteed at least 5 years in there which makes far more sense. Also sounds as if her husband managed a lot of the renovations himself (so jealous, my husband is not this way inclined!). Tbh it's a shame the housing market has been destroyed and this isn't an option for everyone, but I caused mass chaos on the Jack Monroe thread talking about landlords looooool so I shall desist.
 
My husband is starting a YouTube channel (something involving a geek game) I told him to make sure the pictures of the kids were not in the background when they filmed and he looked at me like I was mad. “Of course I removed the kids picture in the background I’m not gonna have strangers seeing those pics”. Oh honey if you knew. Some people are showing waaaaay more than pictures online.

Red seems disingenuous (taken from Sarah Tomczak, Red Editor insta) when in real life she’s matey enough with Glen, questionable possibly racist midwife, to go camping (with a bleeping pizza oven no less). I mean, sure, perhaps Sarah has had the conversation about racism with her friend but somehow I doubt it. What an utter coward Gimmie is for not just addressing the whole thing properly.
Also, nice to be back, have enjoyed grunka-ing through all sorts of threads. You lot do give the lols.

Soooo... Gemma from TIM got on her high horse and posted about the lady from The Vit D project “liking” one of Wileys anti Semitic posts. Gemma posted private messages Via TIMs stories that she’d sent to Africa, challenging her in an extremely passive aggressive way (although didn’t name her, but it was very easy to work out) and basically wouldn’t let it go. She really got on her moral high horse and was downright rude and wrong. Africa (who I didn’t follow before all this) very eloquently corrected Gemma- which Gemma didn’t like and was like a dog with a bone very passive aggressively messaging Africa from TIM account and then her own personal account- and posting it all on TIMs stories. I’ve been a follower of TIM for years and a fan, but this has really changed my opinion of Gemma. Africa had liked a comment about Wiley apparently being dropped from his record label but Gemma jumped on her high horse and pursued this poor lady incorrectly for what she perceived as Africa liking an anti Semitic post. If you watch Africa’s Insta TV it’s really upsetting. But of course, moany Gemma is now the victim, she seems to have gone into hiding to lick her wounds and there hasn’t been an apology or even acknowledgement that she targeted Africa (who is heavily pregnant! Ready to give birth any day!) incorrectly and unjustly.

Anybody please feel free to add to this or correct me! And apologies- I know this isn’t the thread for it! There’s a This Is Mothership thread now if anybody is interested ☺️

I'm currently having this beef with my husband who sadly has a reasonable online following and he really doesn't get it. A lot of men in his sport put stuff up, especially with their girls cos as you can imagine there's a real drive for female inclusion in sport. Tbh I don't like pictures of me going on his socials because I've seen what people write under pictures of other wives/girlfriends/DAUGHTERS, it's either disgusting like dirty old men talking about what they'd do to women or really bleeping cruel. I don't want to see someone calling my baby clapped, or on her 16th birthday leaving crude comments under a picture of her in front of those rose gold balloons every teenage girl loves you know? Also those men 'need' to because they're monetising their platforms and that's their sole bread & butter, it's not ours, so why would you do it?!

I've linked him to the Glamour article and he laughed at the deep fake stuff, I admit that is a bit of nana pearl clutching as the technology isn't so accessible that any pedalo can create whatever they want, but does that matter? Does it matter if they create vile low res images in Microsoft Paint or a computer powerful enough to power the bleeping Tesla space ship, it's still horrific?

Sorry for the essay but it's something that's really bothering me at the moment, tbh I don't know why he's acting bad for I will just log into his socials and delete the photos if he does put them up & do him vegetarian dinners as a domestic cold war tactic but nonetheless, bleeping annoying to deal with.
 
@Dogmuck about my 'in' on the gold jackets deal, have a few heavy handshakes lined up and ready, now I know they're made of real gold I've pushed the Benjamin's right up. Thinking The Maldives or Dubai for Christmas 2020, who knows might even get to rub shoulders with a few of those Towie lot?!

It took every grey cell left in my head to do this picture, my heart rate has started racing and I've had to lie down on the sofa - at least preschool level art work right there?!

Thanks! This is exactly the info I was after.
Urg I’ve never heard of This is Mothership. Scrolled for a couple of minutes and felt very tit about myself. It made me think one of the things I like about Africa is how explicitly she talks about her style/ aesthetic etc, she acknowledges she thinks about it, it’s not just thrown on and snapped for the gram, everything she does is very considered. This is true of all influencers but loads of them try to make out like it’s all so effortless and natural (unless it’s a very contrived insta vs reality, I’m just like you type post) that you feel so crappy that you’re not walking round the house with a bunch of peonies in your hand.
It’s why hill house vintage is good, there’s no pretence it’s not all set up

Agreed, I print screened here recent posts about choosing classic things that fit their style / space!

Just took a look at TIM, really underwhelmed? Can’t see any clemmie they must have deleted it, but why do the two co founders have so few insta followers? I love what you said about walking round the gouse with peonies, it’s true, who actually enjoys this content? It’s so sterile and same-y, I’m so bleeping bored of F&B colours / insta mama outfits / smug faces.
