She loathes the fact that she's known as the fascist in the attic and she will make up little imaginary scenarios (like her bisexuality reels) (pregnant trying on wedding dresses) to try and one up the trolls for making fun of her.
the fascist in the attic
way way waaay too early for thread titles but

Melanie Murphy #10: the erratic, MELodramatic, fascist in the attic

Am I the only one who finds it distasteful that she’s talking about buying an 199k house in cash when we’re in the middle of the worst housing crisis this country has ever been in? She’s acting like it’s their ONLY option and it isn’t. Unless the in-laws have given them a timeframe to sort themselves out and want their house back. Even then she has the option of staying with her dad. It’s not like they’re going to be homeless

Did she really say they were going to buy it in cash?? I thought she was complaining that a millionaire would come buy it in cash before they get the chance to see it.

She could probably only get a mortgage for like 150k. They'll be in the attic for a while yet if that's the case.

oh sorry I misunderstood what she meant. As Melanie would point out I “misread her tone”.

Melanie is clueless about millionaires if she thinks they just drop 200k on a whim. They’d have it all checked out too they just won’t care about seeing it themselves necessarily they’d just pay to send the surveyor without dithering about it.
But millionaires don’t stay millionaires buy buying lots of properties that may be dumps. There’s far more involved than just wondering around Dublin with bags of cash I’m sure.

I don't know if I'm just being overly dramatic....But is she wearing brownface here?

is she ever gonna give it a rest?? yeh having a shite house doesnt matter as long as its within a one inch radius of skerries town centre
She's just a sour graping fox...you know, because she didn't get the sweetest grapes ho,ho,ho!

Melanie needs to manifest something more attainable.

a door for the toilet.
This is classic! Everytime you post about this magical toilet door, I get asthma from laughing 😂😂😂

She never properly lived in any other country, what is she on about?? She basically did the equivalent of a long holiday scrounging off that Toby one and then off Thomas when he was studying, paying 1k a month, where is she getting this into her head that she's so well travelled? 🙄 1k a month is average what people pay while saving for a mortgage, not living in a glorified toilet, scrounging off her in laws while spending all the money that could be used to pay off their loans and car lease on makeup and tacky shite leggings!

Where do Thomas's grandparents live ,maybe they'll inherit /buy cheaply their house and his dad's company could renovate it for them ? I've heard her say his Granny is 90 maybe that's their only chance to get on the property ladder if a mortgage is out of the question.

My brain is so rotted by house prices in Dublin that I read this and was like "....that's normal???" 🥴 God help me!
Wow, €350k???

I'm thousand miles away from my family, but I'm perfectly fine with my Greek countryside life here. I won't sell my kidneys and liver just to be extra near with my people, since I'm already married and building my own family. It's just me ♥️

Anyway, going back to Mel Muppet 😁

I'm not sure who advised her paying rent "looks good for getting a mortgage". That's not true, as long as you are able to save the equivalent it makes no difference. Plus since she's paying her dad's rent and not living there, it could look to the bank like it's an expense she'll still have when she gets a mortgage. The way she talks about her and Thomas' finances so separately when they are married is bizarre.
