I hate how condescending they are. So disrespectful. If I was selling my house I'd definitely prefer a single person who's job it is to safely assess my house. There’s only one I can see for 200k and it’s the auction one. I get the sense she’s saying they would do it up/renovate it and sell it on for a profit, given its in the centre of skerries? Can’t see any others anywhere near 200k. Can’t imagine she’s going for one with a mortgage given she specified they’re paying cash for it.

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't wanna buy a home without seeing it myself first either. But that's how it is right now. And if you don't want to do that, then you don't have to. At least not in her position. It's a different story if you're forced to move right this instant. Not the case with her. Also: super concerned with privacy but posts details like the price of potential property and where she wants to buy. With a market this small, it's not really hard to figure out which house they would possibly want to get.
That sounds like a baaaaaaad idea privacy and safety wise. I wouldn't want people on the internet know the address and floor plan of my potential house if I were in her position.

Am I the only one who finds it distasteful that she’s talking about buying an 199k house in cash when we’re in the middle of the worst housing crisis this country has ever been in? She’s acting like it’s their ONLY option and it isn’t. Unless the in-laws have given them a timeframe to sort themselves out and want their house back. Even then she has the option of staying with her dad. It’s not like they’re going to be homeless
