I’m glad other people found it odd. Thought it was just me! I’ve watched the first two episodes as they’re all on iplayer and still confused as to what it’s about, apart from a really boring couple living pretty boring lives. Could literally watch basically any married couple for a couple of hours and see the same kind of stuff

I think it’s very clever. So many unanswered questions and other stories below the surface.

The writer also wrote Him and Her with Russell Tovey years ago.

That was about a couple mostly sat on the bed watching TV.

I like it so far (ep.2), I think it’s clever. It captures the mundane every day life of older married couples after the kids have left. The underlying storylines of the manipulative dad and daughter being gaslighted by the prick boyfriend. She’s seemingly happy with her husband but has a silly crush at work and he’s horrendously socially awkward. Him hanging around hoping to make conversations and freaking young girls out is a hard watch but very well acted. Something very sad is on its way I think

Unusual drama, husband made redundant & now lost, trying to fill his days, wife in a crap job with a smug wanker of a boss, both of them pretending that everything is ok.
Daughter going out with a nut/controlling type, another son apparently dead & old dad playing up.
Guess it's about people at a crossroads in their lives & the actual banality of life.
Can see Emma the mother exploding.
