Last year I witnessed a man pick up an uncovered Christmas loaf... Sniff it all over.I had to go and pick up something yesterday so obviously went in for a cookie check. No cookies so I got spiced buns. Unfortunately there was a child left to their own devices hacking all over the bakery. Everyone was raising their eyebrows and because I’m in my #fuckityear (spine bright) I lurked to see the outcome. Parent eventually rocked up but didn’t remove ill child from unwrapped food area. Honestly.
Anyway, we don’t do Christmas, but my illness (which will probably raise its head again now!) has run off with my tastebuds so I’m trying to buy tasty food. Got some mince, posh fish cakes and veg. Leaving it to the OH because for those in the know I’m like Jack Monroe and would add everything and nothing and turn them into swamp food.
I’ll rarely buy from a bakery counter like M&S, sainsburys, Waitrose, Lidl etc. people are feral and no one ever uses the tongs etc (which also look like they’re never cleaned. I equally hate the bread just randomly sitting out in an aisle (M&S/Waitrose/sainsburys am looking at you) with everyone’s coats and trolleys brushing past them. I’d rather buy a fresh loaf from a nice independent bakery where half the world haven’t touched/breathed all over themLast year I witnessed a man pick up an uncovered Christmas loaf... I am tempted to go back and buy all they have, it's just a bit of a trek to my closest M&S. I bought it as a consolation because they had no refill bags of Merry Munch and I didn't want to pay for a tin I don't need. Now I shall just feel sad I don't have more.---

OH got jelly munch tin as a present today. She sent me a picture saying “merry munch

It’s epic isn’t it. Makes the normal range taste of nothing ( and I’m a big fan of an M&S curry.)
