That's not gaslighting, that's just having an opinion 😂 he's caught feelings and so anything she will do he will be a bit sensitive to. Doesn't mean that it's true and Gemma certainly stood her ground on this one.

Gaslighting is a form of manipulation that often occurs in abusive relationships. It is a covert type of emotional abuse in which the bully or abuser misleads the target, creating a false narrative and making them question their judgments and reality. Ultimately, the victim of gaslighting starts to feel unsure about their perceptions of the world and even wonder if they are losing their sanity.

Some examples of typical gaslighting…

1. "That never happened."

2. "You're too sensitive."

3. "You have a terrible memory."

4. "You're crazy — and other people think so, too."

5. "I'm sorry you think that I hurt you."

6. "You should have known how I would react."

Lasted about 8 minutes into my pod on paper and had to turn it off. Orlaith calling out Luca is of course expected and normal but it’s clear her dislike low key extends to Gemma too and that’s kind of ok I guess but Also trying to say dami has learned from his behaviour, is a better person and he and Indiyah are our real winners?

It’s like last year when Faye was as bad as luca and she tried to say it was itv taking advantage of an emotional person.

orlaith, call people out. Especially idiots like Luca but hold everyone to the same standard and not just your faves. Her bias is just head scratching.

The show is heavily, heavily edited.

Last night on the terrace Gemma said Luca said during the earlier chat that he had denied being annoyed for 10(or was it 20?)minutes, we saw 30 seconds. I can imagine Luca(like the others)is starting to crack up, having been in there for 2 months....It was like that on Big Brother.

ITV don't give a duck about the people in there and are quite happy to throw them under the bus in pursuit of ratings.

ps Jacques(now on 998k) has unfollowed Ekin-Su and Tasha - so much for being in 'a better place mentally'.
I think he will have unfollowed ekin as she caused the argument with remi and him .saw amber do a interview about

i’m sure ekin & tasha are devastated 💔

Who on Earth wants to work with Jacques? What’s he going to advertise? Lynx Africa and Daz washing powder?

He has also deleted all the pictures of Paige from his account and unfollowed Tasha, Ekin and Gemma.

I think it’s safe to assume he won’t be waiting for Paige at the airport….

I would think gems mum and dad are cooking up ways to put a bit of distance between her and luca.
These types of possessive men tend to want to move the girl away from her family and I can't imagine the owens letting that happen easily.
Hes a prick and tried to humiliate her and control her when he knew she was nervous, then tried to gaslight her into accepting responsibility.
I'm glad she's so switched on but the girl needs some space from him asap

Just because your mate says "sorry you think I hurt you" doesn't make them a gas lighter. What makes one a gas lighter is if the victim questions their own reality. I know what gaslighting is all too well having experienced it before.

You severely underestimate the "question your own reality/ feel unsure about perceptions of the world" bit. This whole thing is about heavy manipulation not just some head behaviour like we've seen.

He can say "that didn't happen" or "it happened differently to how you remember" - that's not gaslighting until the victim believes the abuser's word over their own.

Is anyone else preparing themselves for the ultimate disappointment when Gemma’s mother comes in to the villa? I have a feeling (because of mental health) production won’t allow her to tell Gemma to bin him off. Meeting the parents is usually a soppy occasion and, from what I can recall, there’s never been a family come in and say they don’t agree with the relationship or dislike a person. I genuinely don’t think the producers will allow it to be anything else than a cringey puke-fest full of hugs, kisses, smugness and the ever-classic “oh wow I can see where they get their looks from 😍” suck up comments

So it’s all on the victim yet again????? I’m sorry I don’t agree. The whole point is the abuser is CHOOSING to use the manipulative techniques in order to TRY to get the victim to believe their words over reality.

Who is this Orlaith person ppl keep talking about..and why do we care so much about another person's opinion?
“We” don’t. I obviously do and she’s been mentioned on her before as annoying. She does a well known podcast on love island which is good in some ways but her bias to certain contestants tends to takeover. It’s annoying because she does good breakdowns and has had good guests but the last two seasons she’s just really let her feelings on certain contestants take over and as host of the podcast I wish she’d be a bit more diplomatic.

The closest we came was when Mauras mum met Curtis, she BLATANTLY was not a fan 😂😂😂

I feel so bad for Gemma thinking about her being nervous for the challenge, then thinking she'd done alright only to get abuse over it.

Sorry but I don't buy that she sees the gaslighting and has accepted it for the win, why would you expect the public to vote for a gaslighter?

same , she doesn’t like the dancing challenges and obviously that is something that makes her self conscious and then he’s putting her down over it when she done well

Yeah I said this a few threads ago, absolutely no way is she gonna come in and say anything bad on National TV 🥲 they’ll be a just be a look that only Gemma will recognise and it will go unsaid.
