That's not gaslighting, that's just having an opinion 😂 he's caught feelings and so anything she will do he will be a bit sensitive to. Doesn't mean that it's true and Gemma certainly stood her ground on this one.

Yes but Gemma was very young and she would have had her family and friends around her so they wouldn't have been together 24/7 and I'm sure her family and friends would have supported her when she chose to end it due to his toxic behaviour. It's different where she is now as she doesn't have any distractions or outsiders (close family/friends) to get her away from the situation. I'm not making anything personal and feel I have been respectful in my comments. I apologise if it didn't come across as such. I replied to your comment before I saw one further up in which you apologised and I liked it. Think we will have to agree to disagree on this one. Life would be boring if we all had the same opinion

People that call Luca a gaslighter have clearly never been with one. Lucas behaviour is nothing in comparison to a "narc" or "gaslighter". Just because this terminology has become mainstream and it's so cool to call everyone and their dog a gaslighter doesn't make it right.

Don't get me wrong Luca is a bleep but that's about it. Stop analysing people's mental health and definitely stop psychoanalysing people that play a role on TV. It's not good for anyone.

What he needs is Gemma to tell him to duck off without having this "winning" thought in her head. She's going to end it after the show if not earlier. It's not that big of a deal and she's handling it well. I'd understand if she was so affected that she was sad/mad/crying her eyes out all the time. But she is fine and doing great. Unfortunately women have to deal with lots of pricks in their life.

Dami is also a bleep - thought I'd reiterate because I saw someone say that they like Dami again. Errrr no. Indyah is a bit dumb to say "I love you" back. I hope they go home tomorrow.

How the victim reacts to or is affected by their perpetrator doesn’t determine whether they are being abused or not. Gemma could tell Luca to duck off and dump him or she could be sat crying and questioning herself and Luca would still be a gaslighting piece of scum because that’s what he is.
 
100% agree that its not gaslighting. Adam collard is a far more dangerous character despite not showing it this time. Having looked back at previous episodes and the way he treated that girl gave me the chills. But with luca I do think he has some dickish immature behaviour that should not be tolerated in any circumstance but at the same time gemma is cold as ice and gives him absolutely nothing. He seems like a very insecure lad and I hope he has plenty of help on the outside because I don't know how he'd cope. There have been suicides related to this show. Sorry to say but its true. Gemma will be absolutely fine after the show. She's very confident and media trained

To be honest it's probably a good thing that outside of this thread Luca isn't quite so badly hated. Don't get me wrong, he's vile and certainly doesn't deserve fame and money off the back of this, but I worry how anyone could cope with his amount of hate. He may be awful but another death associated with this show would be horrific. I'm starting to wonder if it should just be axed tbh because I don't think the type of people they cast, can handle being disliked after.

This is my first time watching it and at first thought was great but as time went on I'm seeing how toxic it is. And I found myself really hating on some of them when it's an edited show. It just feels like a massive witch-hunt.

I completely disagree. Gaslighting comes in various forms, just because Gemma is cold as ice in your words doesn't make his behaviour less than it is.

He's an arrogant, entitled bastard who clearly has never not got his own way. His parents have a lot to answer for. People like him aren't the type to self harm... he'd definitely tell a gf that her actions made him want to, or threaten to do it as a means of control though (like my Ex who after a row once drove off in his car and told me he was going to hang himself and it would be my fault. He didn't, of course).

Men like him are deeply unpleasant, but what's more worrying is the amount of people willing to enable or excuse their abhorrent behaviour. And that's what people like this rely on...the old 'well, no one else thinks I was wrong'
 
My first reaction is to always be like "ugh why can't she just go ahead and break it off" because there's been so many reasons and opportunities but I forget how young she is and how even me, at an older age than her, needed someone close to me to point it out and give me the gall to end it.

I hope they don't last. She looks happy with him in the background often and I think she's def gotten attached to him/ warm feelings but the rest of the time she looks miserable and suffocated.

I hate this Paige is “wifey material” crap because she’s such a pick me, yes girl whereas the strong women of the Villa aren’t “wifey material” because they won’t sit down and shut up.
Also agreeing with Luca when he openly just said he loved seeing Paige with the other boys. Also he looks like everyone’s giant Granda.

I think this is going to be a huge indication tbh. If they come in and act all nicey nicey, it's clearly about the win. It's like how her mum has made comments about the bullying but then posted after showing a photo of Luca and Gemma that is her favourite? She can't have just been referring to Dami with the bullying or she's a fool.
 
i love davide and ekin su as much as everyone else does. mostly for entertainment purposes tho, they definitely won't last after the series.
but maybe unpopular opinion but Davide is a bit of a dick to her. she basically said something like 'you're bleeping around' and he replied ' you should see me when i duck around". he said that on purpose to wind her up and then gets annoyed when she reacts to it! if my bf said that to me i'd be annoyed also. you don't know if he was actually joking or not, he is very manipulative
ekin wasn't in the wrong for being annoyed with him, it's not her being a 'drama queen'

Agree but...he did apologise at the time, grabbed her arm and tried to reassure her and tried to nip it in the bud...then she continued it for carbonara.
 
The show is heavily, heavily edited.

Last night on the terrace Gemma said Luca said during the earlier chat that he had denied being annoyed for 10(or was it 20?)minutes, we saw 30 seconds. I can imagine Luca(like the others)is starting to crack up, having been in there for 2 months....It was like that on Big Brother.

ITV don't give a duck about the people in there and are quite happy to throw them under the bus in pursuit of ratings.

ps Jacques(now on 998k) has unfollowed Ekin-Su and Tasha - so much for being in 'a better place mentally'.
