I noticed that! It looked like he was cracking up with Demi! I wish the producers had focused on their reactions a bit (which lets face it, were instead of making it all about who Davide/Luca would chose.

Ikenna seems pretty boring now but I’m wondering if he and Dami have got a good sense of humour tha just hasn’t been showcased because the producers are so busy focusing on Gemmas storylines.

wish we could vote Gemma out tbh. I can take a little bit of fakeness with my reality TV but I cannot stand being manipulated (as I imagine the rest of the British public can’t).

featuring Gemma as the main character, giving her a redemption story arc - it’s not real. It’s pure manipulation. They might’ve gotten away with it in previous seasons with the likes of Dani and Jack and no one really clocked in until after the show ended… but everyone is wise to those type of antics now.

we just want to see people interact organically. We don’t need elaborately constructed love triangles that no one cares about (who else thinks Davide was told to kick off at Luca and Gemma? Who actually is invested in any of these peoples relationships?). Sometimes the funniest most memorable parts of Love Island were the contestants just being themselves and totally moronic.

It feels like production on this show has gone to tit and I wonder which nepotism baby is responsible
 
I was saying this last night, I read an article before they all went in and gemma was saying she wanted to be the next molly mae etc. I wonder if she’s stamped her feet and demanded it so daddy has obliged and coughed up. It would make sense as the shows popularity has certainly dwindled in the last seasons.
I expect a certain amount of viewer manipulation in any of these shows but it’s becoming so obviously inauthentic now it’s painful to watch, and I’m an absolute reality tv junkie normally.
my thoughts are that the ex will come back - likely pre planned and totally unsurprising to gemma (which is why she hasn’t been really open to any of the guys), and they will get back together, both hoping for that MM and Tommy barbie and Ken starcrossed lovers story arc and subsequent career. Unfortunately what we have seen so far has shown gemma doesn’t have an ounce of MMs warmth and personality so I don’t see this materialising no matter how much money is thrown at it.
luca will slither back to Paige for the time being and bless her I really love her but I think she will just allow it,only for him to leave her again when new girls come in.
The rest are being sidelined for the gemma show and I think there will be some switches and tears between them but the producers won’t focus on it and it will be more “filler material”.
Very disappointed so far 🙁
 
Let’s not forget folks we’ve still not completed Week 1 yet and this series runs for 8 weeks. Hopefully in a couple of weeks it will be “Gemma Who” and “Davide Who”. I’m kinda wanting to add “Luca Who” but there’s a chance he might get wind of how he’s being perceived outside (snaky and shady) and develop a different persona, which could be fun 🤫

Hoping it’s the total opposite and Gemma doesn’t get back with this guy. Paige can take him for the time being see what happens this series is very staged so far but I love the drama we’ve had!! Gemma doesn’t have any banter or like charisma oozing from her shes her fathers daughter

i really hope you are right!!! And I know haha, my partner said the same when he watched a bit of it last night - I also can’t believe how physically similar they are - she’s him with a long brown wig 😂😂😂

The unseen bits is always better than the actual show I think. You see real convos and interaction and them doing things throughout the day to keep themselves entertained aswell. I’ve always liked it

The last two episodes of the show have been all about Gemma. To see her ex-boyfriend coming in next just shows the producers are REALLY PUSHING Gemma as ‘the narrative’ this series.

AND THEN TODAY I see Michael Owen has done a HUGE ‘tell all’ interview with the Daily Mail. Like ARE YOU KIDDING ME ? How much money has he invested in his daughter to be the star of the show ? And giving ‘exclusive’ interviews during the show etc.
I think if she’s not gone in the next week I won’t be able to keep watching it, the levels of bias and nepotism this year is really gross and sickening !!!!

I know!!! And I keep trying to give her credit *somewhere* but she's freaking harsh. I about died of discomfort during ep 1 or 2? where she was grilling Liam about his degree and what he planned to do like " what of it? tell me something more/ not impressed" and she's like that about almost everything. But that was literally the FIRST time you're getting to know someone new, can you at least try to be semi-nice while trying to learn about somebody.

Also she sure went on about Ekin-Su's comment about being like a big sister or something WAY too much, like for somebody saying their confidence won't be shaken/ unbothered, that really came across bothered lol.

I'm a little excited for unseen bits hoping we see more to them but also just from a distraction from my daily life- been a hard week prob for many of us. PLEASE LORD though DON'T try recycling the salmon into the pool again though- that only worked during Chris' season.

People are making up excuses for Gemma’s behaviour and poor attitude but through my eyes (and I’m sure many others!) she’s simply a spoilt brat. There’s no nicer way to put it.

At 19 you’re still relatively immature and I think Gemma will look back on this Love Island experience in a couple of years time with sheer embarrassment. She’s got the attitude of a 12 year old girl. Obviously very sheltered so I will cut her some slack, however in the grand scheme of things, it’s kind of strange that she’s been casted at 19 when she’s clearly very immature and bratty. Don’t think those traits are particularly attractive to someone 🤯... time will tell but I think she’s definitely a mean girl at heart, she’ll spare no one when it comes to grabbing her opportunity of quick fame and cash.

Nothing problematic about liking Ekin-Su, she’s fun and more importantly she knows herself, Gemma is neither fun and knows nothing, nix, nada .. certainly when it comes to interacting with others.
 
To be fair to Gemma I don’t think she’s been standoffish with the girls? Bar ekin Su first day when they were all making faces but the show only decided to show Gemma’s reaction.

No she’s not been stand-offish with the other girls, to me she just seems a little remote from them, would be good to see her really laughing hard, that’s what often happens within girly chats.
