If he's genuinely her ex then 100% it's fixed and they'll get back together on the show, or at least have a dragged out story-line together, otherwise why bring him in. He and her have probably had it planned since last year, which would explain her behaviour in there so far. In which case it's the end of Love Island as what it says it is on the surface, and the show is fully cemented in being just a promotional step for those who are already set to be in lime light. Tbh I'm reaching the end of being able to watch it and pretend that it isn't completely contrived, planned and fixed.

Before that news however, here were my thoughts:

- Gemma and Luca were probably the most suited to each other from the start, wish they weren't bringing her ex in as I was looking forward to seeing if they genuinely fall for each other which would probably make me warm to them both.

- I'd put Dami and Paige together, I think they're compatible and they're my favourites. I like how Dami and Amber are being together but I don't see the compatibility long term. If not Paige then Indiyah. I wish they hadn't been forced into couples to begin with, I think he's more suited to Paige or Indiyah. Then great new guys are needed for the other two, I doubt we'll find that in Gemma's ex.

- We saw more of Ikenna tonight, and although I think he's nice, dare I say I think he might be a bit boring... I'd put him and Afia together though, I think they've had the most natural rapport and look good together, plus both from London. Or actually Ikenna and Tasha would make a stunning couple.

- I think Tasha and Andrew look like they make a good couple but I don't believe they're that into each other, and I think they're both game players.

- Davide and Ekin - Su aren't into each other and will likely be gone soon, Ekin-Su could be great in there with the right guy/s.

- I expect a bubby, blonde bombshell that'll catch Luca's eye soon.

I hate how Ikenna seems to have the upper hand 😭 at the start she was allergic and now he treats her like “one of the lads” and for some reason she’s putting up with it 😭 I know it’s edited to make people look certain ways etc but he seems so uninterested.
I’m liking it so far but the Gemma Ex twist will be interesting.
I love Dami and Amber. I like Luka as a “character” but don’t fancy him but like how he says stuff straight out .
I think it’s clear now Ekin Su isn’t as confident as we thought and is maybe a bit of a nerd which is fine but I feel she’s giving the boys the ick

Michael Owen has done an interview with the Daily Mail, I’d say he’s hoping to revive his career . Maybe the bigger villa is down to him? If it starts to be the Gemma show it will be so annoying ! It would have been better if it was Andrew or Tashas ex

I miss Liam, literally the only person I liked a lot is gone. Good for him for doing what he felt instead of staying in discomfort and having a hard time all for the sake of deals. He wasn't too into himself or anything and just seemed so nice ( not in the cliche "nice guy" sense where they turn out to be an ass) but like really truly nice. Did him going home actually "make room" for Paige and Afia to stay though? No, I'm betting they just said that as they can pull literally whatever string they want.

I really like Paige as well and it's a shame those two didn't work out somehow.

While Davide was lifting Ekin-Su, did anyone notice Ikenna doubled over the bench by the fire pit? that was actually hilarious. I don't know how to feel about him, whether he's maybe got more to bring to the table but we just don't see it because it's all about Gemma and Davide/ ES.

I LOVE Afia. I feel like she's a bit similar to Liam though in the sense that she's so nice and unbothered about trying to stay in a situation to stay in there though so I don't know how long she'll last sadly.

I freaking HATE Davide, I know that's strong language but nothing about him is appealing to me. I have a hard time figuring why he was even so sought after originally.

No words for the Gemma's ex thing. It says it all really, the fact alone that they're doing this. Do you really have that little to work with that you need to do that. I miss season 3 something awful!
