I have to agree with you. I would find it difficult to stomach an ‘intervention’ from Kaz, Chloe, Faye let alone Millie - Jake may appear to be a snake but what has he done in actuality? Nothing. Didn’t cheat in CA, was not trying it on with anyone, did not give us a whole ‘I’m so tempted but...’ narrative. He was pretty straightforward in my opinion. Tyler is more snakey and Liam, don’t get me started.

But the point is he’s had a game plan since day 1 - that’s why it appears he’s done “ nothing “ he latched onto Liberty had the bracelets packed , obviously didn’t cheat in Casa amor ( not that any of them were interested in him anyway ) but encouraged all the boys too , he doesn’t fancy Liberty and every move is orchestrated. When all these things are added up together and there in black & white it’s so obvious, He’s slimy , fake and a game player .
 
Just caught up on the episode and am so grossed out by Jake. He’s just slimey af. I always thought he was at least a little bit creepy from the very beginning, when he filmed Kaz and Toby during the dare gam. Now I’m sure of it, with how he’s treating Liberty. Let’s be real, if Lucinda had shown interest, he’d have been off like a rocket.

Also, never knew that Tattle had a Love Island thread, so hi everyone!

I've been thinking about that too. I honestly think he is a game player. The only reason for him 'declaring' his love for her all of a sudden is because he had no choice. He knows the public doesn’t rate him and Liberty is finally beginning to question everything. I genuinely believe he thought putting min effort would be enough! Besides, he doesn't know how to romance a woman, I don't see him as a giver. It's all about him!

BUT… in the early days when he said he didn’t want to rip her clothes off, I completely get it!! For me, I can appreciate that someone is good looking but that doesn’t mean I necessarily want to jump into bed with them. It takes a while to get to that point, even when they’re gorgeous to look at.

Take Teddy for example. He walked into the villa, obviously he’s a good looking guy but it wasn’t until his personality started to show that I thought actually I really fancy him.

Can’t believe I’m defending Jake but that’s my opinion anyway. As I said, I’m bored of him and Lib now.

I understand what you mean but most men and women are attracted the different things.

Most men are attracted to lust and looks. They will literally pick someone straight off if they find them attractive or not and normally will deal with whatever because they do fancy them so much. It’s why most men struggle with the concept that women can just stop fancying them instantly. Because it’s not the same for them.

Most women are attracted to looks, personality, connection and the way the other person makes you feel. It’s why we get the ick. It’s Why we can literally go from thinking someone’s gorgeous to them literally making us shudder.

yes I’m generalising here and I know there’s exceptions.

I don’t think it’s ever grown for Jake, he didn’t fancy her from the off and doesn’t fancy her now.
 
I disagree that Jake hasn't done anything.

Kissing someone else at casa while you're coupled up is a pretty crappy thing to do. Having your head turned by a new person and handling it badly with the person you're coupled up with is also a crappy way to behave but these are basically kids, that kind of behaviour, while crappy, is perfectly normal. It's also kinda the whole point of the show and the reason we all watch!

Jake is different.
His attitude towards women is disgusting. He is friends with all the girls in the villa and yet totally disrespected them as individuals and his friendship with them by encouraging crappy behaviour from the guys they are coupled up with. It also suggests heavily that he's playing a game by sabotaging other couples so he can win.

His language when talking about Liberty is possessive. 'Made you MY girlfriend', 'you're MY girlfriend'. Everything he says about them as a couple indicates he views Liberty as a possession. An object. Not entering into a relationship of her own free will. Nope, he is dominant, in control of her. He made her.
For contrast look at Millie and Liam and the language they use. Everything they say is about being a team, THEIR relationship, togetherness, equality. They build each other up. When have you ever seen Jake build Liberty up? Treat her as an equal?

They way he manipulates the conversations with Liberty so that she is constantly flattering his ego. Always asking questions so that she is forever telling him how much she fancies him, how funny he is, how he makes her feel but never reciprocating. He's undermining her confidence, making her always prove how much she likes him in the hope that one day he'll compliment her or tell her how he feels.

Last night talking to the boys he 'speculated' that the results of the public vote and them not being a genuine couple were because Liberty doesn't talk to him if there's a problem. He insinuated it was her fault. But of course she doesn't talk to him, she's not secure enough in the relationship to feel she can discuss problems without him dumping her. He has done that deliberately so he has more control over her. If you're constantly worried that someone you love is going to leave you, you'll try harder to keep them happy by dismissing your own feelings.

Tomorrow night's episode... I would bet money on Jake trying to isolate Liberty from the other girls by telling her that they are poisoning her against him, that they are playing games. He'll reassure her that he's the only one she can trust.

His behaviour is insidious. He's awful and whatever Liberty's faults, she deserves better than him.

Makes sense I guess. I sometimes forget that’s it’s different for men. I love how as women we get the ick if something isn’t quite right 🙌🏻😂
 
I don’t find Jake genuine at all. He could barely get the words I love you out of his mouth without looking like he was going to have a seizure first!! Libby is sooooo hooked on him, literally believes anything he says. I worry about her on the outside being taken advantage of - she’s so lovely and selfless that someone will take that as weakness 💔

However I do not think Chloe’s intervention isn’t genuine either - Jake & Lib are competition at the end of the day and I do think there is an agenda here
 
Jake wants to win to be ‘the winners’ because the winners always get the most publicity when coming out the villa. If he wins he’ll be on the front cover of the newspapers, he’ll be the one doing Lorraine, This Morning, he’ll be the one that is talked about on the news. It’s all about fame for him, I don’t think he is actually bothered about the £50k or even who he wins with. I think it’s more important for him to have as much airtime and fame as possible. Attention seeking gnome boy who needs to get in tHE BIN 🗑

Yup he even said he was gutted when they didn’t choose him for a date he also told Liberty to his face he was going to get to know every blonde girl that walked in obviously they didn’t want him
 
I can’t help but feel that Lib is constantly playing a character when she’s on screen. The girlfriend, the best friend, the ditzy one, the intelligent one, the wronged woman, the strong woman. None of it feels genuine to me, but I think it’s because she’s young and doesn’t seem sure of herself, she’s just copying people she’s seen in previous series. She was pretty smug about her relationship, and I do think she's rattled by the public opinion and doesn't know how to play it. Since day one she's been a walking love island handbook spitting out all the phrases.

I wish they were both voted out weeks ago.

I certainly don’t understand the ‘exclusive’ crap.

is this ‘exclusive’ stuff really a thing? What’s the difference between being exclusive and being boyfriend/ girlfriend? When did relationships get so complicated?

She is so bleeping smug and it’s what made me go off her!!
She thought she had it in the bag whilst we could all see how she was being played
Also this may not go down well but how smug has millie got???
