I think jo was lying when she said who she thought was her father. There was plenty of time in that van for the prison warden to tell her what to say and buckles had already been warned

I mean the Jimmy saville officer was actually gross! Poor jo though knowing she is a product of incest. I mean the therapy she needs

I really hope that’s the last ever Line Of Duty so that the message is: nothing ever changes, corrupt organisations destroy even the most principled people, power will always exert itself to protect itself, no reform is possible of fundamentally broken institutions. Well that’s a downer. People watch Drama shows for some escapism. We wanted the questions answered. We know all about broken institutions, look at our Goverment. Sometimes we just need to escape from that and not be taught a lesson.
But I feel like the show has constantly held a mirror up to real life, made reference to real cases (Yewtree, Stephen Lawrence etc) so it makes sense for it to be a political ending like that. For me it’s not really a show you watch as escapism as it covers so many things that are relevant and current in society. And I think that’s how Jed wrote it too.

I think she genuinely thought he was her dad. It fits with the abuse timeline for her mum, and with him having groomed her to get her into the force and then them having a hold over her. He just wasn’t H anymore in the end. ETA: they said in Buckells interview that Fairbanks had been a kingpin.

That’s probably why she got a much nicer WP gig than Gill - the lawsuit they’d get for having told her that in an interview and not treating her as vulnerable when her rep pointed it out, then thrown her back in prison with no psychological support when they knew there were corrupt officers in there 😂

omg yes. When they were telling her that info in the interview I did think, surely this should not be happening. Why did the union guy next to her not tell them to stop ✋

thinking about the tactics of ac 12 especially in interviews and Steve sleeping with key witnesses, is it any wonder Carmichael is in charge and Osborne wants people in it he can trust???

I guess, This series has heavily highlighted real life injustice (Stephen Lawrence, Christopher Alder) and so if there was this perfect ending where everyone got caught, It’s not true to life. Anti corruption is rife and the real people at the top aren’t held accountable.

Still a little angry that Kate and Steve didn’t get married though

Yes! I’m howling at people who think it was some super important, clever political commentary and we just don’t get it lmao. Like no we understand, it was just shite.

I edited my post - her rep tried! He asked for a break that was denied and said in terms of coercion and control she should be treated as vulnerable. And Carmichael overrode both.
