Really? Which parts did you like? I did read something I agree with about the message Jed was trying to convey. Also I feel like it ended in true Line of Duty style where there was no real justice and success felt because ultimately corruption is still built solidly into the police force. But genuinely think it was rubbish TV.
Yep, everything you’ve said there really. I liked the message about corruption and that nothing really ever changes. It felt like a very believable ending that it’s not one super villain behind everything but just a series of flawed/greedy individuals.
I also think that to create an ending dramatic enough to have the impact everyone wanted it would have had to be so unexpected that no one could have come up with it, so it never would have made sense.

I really hope that’s the last ever Line Of Duty so that the message is: nothing ever changes, corrupt organisations destroy even the most principled people, power will always exert itself to protect itself, no reform is possible of fundamentally broken institutions. Well that’s a downer. People watch Drama shows for some escapism. We wanted the questions answered. We know all about broken institutions, look at our Goverment. Sometimes we just need to escape from that and not be taught a lesson.

They did address that jo didn’t realise he was the mastermind so thought it was the safest option to frame him. He even convinced her he was incompetent.

the two witches in the police van did the fake production order and I’m guessing they supplied buckells with laptop etc

Jimmy bakewell- I’m assuming buckells didn’t know how many independent ocg factions were operating in jail. Potentially even the ocg has infighting for top dog.

So many ends left unanswered:
-Why did Buckells smirk when he got to his prison cell (I thought he might have seen something- a laptop or phone in there)?
-who forged the production order?
-Buckells said he was passing messages on, from who?
-why was there a weird sexual thing between Steve and kate at the end?
-what will Carmichael do with the info from Ted?
-will teds appeal be successful?
-why had Osborne promoted his allies to AC-12?
-who promoted Buckells up the ranks and was it on purpose?
-why was there a weird shot on Carmichael looking at a tv with a news article about council corruption over property planning?

anymore?
-Why did Buckells smirk when he got to his prison cell (I thought he might have seen something- a laptop or phone in there)? Because he will likely get immunity.
-who forged the production order? Not sure, but based on what Buckles said, there’s different layers to this corruption and someone always ready to step into someone else shoes. Maybe someone below him?
-Buckells said he was passing messages on, from who? From the OCG. He wasn’t the mastermind. He was basically just a coordinator for the OCGs and they would contact him when they needed something sorting.
-why was there a weird sexual thing between Steve and kate at the end? Maybe after Kate spoke to occ health she realised she has become attached to Steve?
-what will Carmichael do with the info from Ted? Don’t know.. even she asked what should be done?
-will teds appeal be successful? No idea
-why had Osborne promoted his allies to AC-12? Because he is corrupt..?
-who promoted Buckells up the ranks and was it on purpose? Each of the people before him, Thurwell / Fairbank etc

This is what I’m basing it on 😊 x

Can’t

Why did Buckells tit himself when jammy bakewell was killed?
why did jo set him up, by putting the files in his car, and who ordered her to do that?

Because he was a lacky for the OCG rather than running the show. He wasn't the one out doing the killing so seeing Lakewell murdered in front of him would have shown him what would happen if he ever squealed.

Jo set him up to deflect AC12 away from her, she didn't know he was the 4th man it was just coincidence.

Just finished it and jumped to the new posts so sorry if this has been said but I think I expected it to be a bit like this. I liked the switch over (but the forged signatures would have been discovered, who did that?) and thought they were setting up the senile dude to reveal himself as absolutely of sound mind but so much of it just doesn’t make sense now and so much of the ‘plot’ seems pointless.

EXACTLY THAT 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 THIS AINT A DOCUMENTARY JED

I think jo was lying when she said who she thought was her father. There was plenty of time in that van for the prison warden to tell her what to say and buckles had already been warned
