Seems everyone online is assuming that any relationship between Tommy and Jo's mum would be Tommy's "fault". I'd like to speculate maybe Tommy was abused by his sister (after all, he is only 13/14 years older than Jo) and that could have got him put in care where he wanted to abuse others. It's pretty common for victims of bullying and abuse to grow up to be bullies and abusers- lots of kids with terrible parents become terrible parents for example.

I thought that too about Jo’s mum and Tommy.
 
Carmichael also removed surveillance on Terry Boyle...so does that mean he’s a goner? I like Terry!

I wonder why Ted gave up John? In the interview someone posted it says that Ted thought he would go to a police station to seek refuge and so Ted could call him in to assist with police enquires but that is one mighty big risk to take!!!

Some people on social media have said they were shocked at the James Nesbitt reveal and I was sat there like ‘it’s James Nesbitt’. Like what’s so great about him? I initially got the character confused with the man who wanted to make Steve lie in the first series so was really confused!

I like how Jed weaves real life crime but calling the man Christoper Lawrence just felt a bit too on the nose to me. Christoper Alder and Stephen Lawrence.

The whole internet 😂 It's not rocket science you're actively coming onto this thread where a show and theories are being discussed - if you see a spoiler thats your own fault 🤷

We're here to discuss the aired episodes and theories, which are not spoilers, but people posting stills from live filming of future episodes without a spoiler tag (just because they were spoiled while seeking out that info) is not acceptable. The spoiler cut is there for a reason and good manners don't cost a thing.

There's a whole thing about Jackie Laverty paying for her to go to private school- it's possible she was smart/got some help getting to the AC-12 position. This is meant to be about 10 years later, they could suddenly decide she was 12 at the time and make it fit.

Good old Buccles was assigned to the Laverty case when Tony was taken off it. I'm not sure if there's a deliberate link having Buccles arrested and her body found in this series. Or if it's just excellent writing of bringing names in so that it feels more realistic that all these people know each other in the area.

By that logic you must boycott trailers of every TV series and movies as you believe those to be containing spoilers? 🤣
Maybe you should take a break from this thread until the series is over. It seems fraught with potential risks for you.
 
Yeah the Chloe and Tony Gates thin hasn't be proven yet. I just think it's entirely possible!

From watching season 1 today, other observations I had include:
- The actor playing Terry is a different guy
- I had totally forgotten that Osborne was the one who basically started everything by pinning the blame on Steve
- Gates says to Buckells something like "careful taking this job, it's easy for a good cop to fall and trip into a snake pit"

He also took over from Roz Huntley, he's been going up the ladder quickly and turning up when AC-12 get invovled- possibly Osborne has something over him from the Lawrence Christopher case (or vice versa) and is putting in situations to control him.
