Perhaps Lewis Goodall is the replacement for the Lamster.....

It doesn't sound as if he is going to do a regular on air show, but with Jon Sopel and Emily Mathais on a podcast and then contributing to other programmes (probably similar to Theo Usherwood).

Nick Abbot's high regard for the Nick Ferrari show won't go down well with the DS LBC/Nick Ferrari Steering Group Collective. 😁

Interesting how Nick A praises Nick F, yet politically I imagine Nick A is opposed to Nick F's politics. This is why I like Iain Dale, he's not vehemently opposed to people with opposite political views - instead he's actually quite fair and sees it from both sides.

He's sung Nick F's praises loads of times. One caller asked him a while ago who was the best at LBC and he said Nick F without missing a beat.
He was also singing Steve Allen's praises on his podcast with Carol saying no one would believe how difficult it is to do a show like Steve's without any callers.

He seems able to separate the skill of the presenter from what they're actually saying.

This all came about because one caller called LBC 'Labours Broadcasting Company' and then another said it was 'Leading Britains Conservatives' or something similar. Nick was saying they obviously had the balance right.

(I would also like to add that Carol constantly takes the mick out of NA for his love of James O'Brien :ROFLMAO: )

I may be in the minority, but I think Steve's colleagues are blowing smoke up his ass with those remarks. I refuse to believe that his job is tougher (reading the papers and blabbering on about stories in the papers and giving anecdotes about his life) than the political presenters who have to deal with difficult topics and take calls from all kinds of people. I've no doubt it's not easy, but making it out to be some incredibly complicated job makes no sense.

Nick Abbot was busy praising Nick Ferrari the other night and explaining to listeners why he is the best.
Maybe he's got contract negotiations coming up and is repeating the spiel from meetings 😆. I doubt nick A is either up early enough nore would be able to listen to nick F and face his views being challenged.

podcast with Carol
Those two really should have a traveling TV show and spend 48 hours in a different city.

I'd watch it and both of their schedules have the time for it.

What people sometimes forget is that at the end of the day it's only a radio station designed to attract as many listeners as possible.
The presenters all (probably) respect each others' broadcasting abilities above all.

Just checked and Lammy is still listed for this Saturday. However, we know in the past that the website is the last place to change !
Lewis Goodall's tweet gives the impression that he won't be doing a live show.
"I’m delighted to say in September I’ll be joining Global, as co-host of @maitlisand @jonsopel’s new daily news podcast and Analysis and Investigations Editor for the whole network. My brief will be to supercharge the organisation’s video output."

I wonder what an "Analysis and Investigations Editor" is?

Global seem to be splashing the cash and I can see the point of Emily Maitlis both in terms of her standing and as more of a male/female balance but Sopel is a bore and I am not sure what Lewis Goodall offers.

In a way this is rubbing James O'Brien's face in it as they will be a reminder of his failure at BBC Newsnight.

Steve has quite a collection of top hats in a variety of colours, and has a pack of oversized playing cards that turn into a top hat when thrown up in the air 😁
