I didn't mind John Stapleton but you're right. Some people I thought would be great on the radio have approved to be anything but. Ruth Davidson and Rachel Johnson spring to mind. Not fan of Camilla Tominey either. ( Maybe I don't like women 🤪 )

Like wise James O'Brien and TV. Better suited to radio. I heard him the other day saying something about 'and that's why I won't do TV anymore'. Nothing to do with you being rubbish at it.

I've quite enjoyed Nick A this weekend. He seemed a bit more relaxed.

I agree though about non stop politics though. Some days I just end up listening to Heart or something. Need to give my brain a detox. Otherwise you end up like James O'Brien :ROFLMAO:

I reckon if Abbot moved to another station, on late nights, like Absolute or Virgin you wouldn't hear any politics from him.
Guess that's just the way LBC is now *sigh*

Absolutely. I find with Nick by the time he gets to the last hour he's generally moved onto something much lighter.
 
Do you think Steve Allen and Nick A ever actually see and speak to one another? I know they do different times, but it's just amusing how they are always talking about one another in light terms, so wonder what they'd be like in person together.

Yes they do. Steve gets in very early. Last week when Nick was covering for TS he probably saw Steve after each show. Bit of an odd one. Steve said something about they'd been for coffee together after one of the Global meetings they have to attend every now and again.

The funny thing is, when Steve says Nick drives an old banger, I actually wouldn't be surprised. Nick seems like the type who is quite frugal. Whenever he goes anywhere, it's generally to Kew Gardens or some tourist attraction in Britain.

Is Nick gay or straight? I remember rumours floating back that he was maybe gay, but I've no idea. Never heard him speak of a partner, just says 'we' when referring to himself and (I'm guessing) his partner. I've only heard him say that twice though, and that was in his podcast with Carol.

No one knows. As you say he says 'we' whenever he talks about doing stuff but he's very private. Even Carol was going on about there being very few photos of him. Steve (soul of discretion) let slip once about Nick's partner being an artist, so there must be one.

I don't know why, I just cannot imagine Nick in a relationship haha. The same can be said for Steve too.

There was another part that was really odd because he was using it to link himself to the second world war. Apart from the obvious issue of the 27 year gap there is all the insults he has thrown at Brexiters for mentioning the second world war!

In his own words James is now a bovine, idiotic racist....
