On DKL we were treated to daily rundowns of her hectic preparations. You’d think she was launching a rocket into space, not setting up a few extension leads in her kitchen. Once DKL finished, there was the gushing over “little ol’ me doing TV” on Twitter and her cringey thank you to Matt’s wife for letting her borrow him (that still makes me die a little inside). We had the same big, exaggerated prep every time she filmed for Hellman’s and then these embarrassing screenshots afterwards. She goes into everything with the fire of a thousand suns but with minimal effort. Everything is THE next big thing, until she moves onto something else the next week.

It’s a bit like that old saying, think it goes ‘if you have to say you’re rich, you probably ain’t’. Well in Jack’s case, it seems to be with regards work. - if she has to keep banging on about being BUSY, she probably aint. There’s more truth to this than comedy, and really it shows how much of a slacker she is generally.

Are you trying to 🔺 triangulate 🔺 me? (I genuinely don't know who you're referring to, sorry, I'm sadly ignorant about comedians - can confirm I'm definitely not a bloke tho)

Episode seven of DKL starts off with a photo sent in by some absolute maniac who has apparently made Jack's lasagne. Sorry, you cannot convince me that a member of the public thought that would be a good idea, it's a stunt lasagne. Jack recommends replacing the mushrooms in the recipe with a grated aubergine. Someone needs to remove this woman's grater and blender privileges until she can be trusted to use them sensibly. She seems to be particularly awkward and cringeworthy in this episode for some reason. She keeps shooting side glances to things off-camera, cackling madly whenever Matt pays her the least attention, muttering to herself when the camera isn't on her and getting part way through sentences before deciding it's better to leave them unfinished. To finish, we are treated to a recipe for her maverick (her choice of descriptor) overnight oats. I give this episode one full minute of blending tinned carrots out of five.

In episode eight, we have Dr Rupy talking Matt through his gigantes plaki-influenced recipe. Jack wastes no time in reminding us of her Greek-Cypriot heritage and mentions her dear Aunt Helen as the litmus test for authenticity. Once Matt and Jack have sat down to taste the dish, Jack says that Aunt Helen would approve and then when Dr Rupy says he can't wait to meet Aunt Helen, casually drops the bombshell that he cannot in fact meet Aunt Helen as Aunt Helen is very dusty these days. I laughed to the point of tears and then replayed it to laugh at it again. I don't know why, it just really tickled me. You can give up on the episode after that, that's the highlight. I give it five flirtatious comments to Dr Rupy out of five.
 
I somtimes think people confuse busy with overwhelmed.
They say they are busy all the time but in reality they do not seem to be doing much yet they are rushing around telling people they cannot talk or do stuff because they are in fact struggling to cope with the workload they have. Genuinely busy people are just that busy they don't even have time to say, I cannot right now because they are completely unavailable until they are no longer busy.

There is no rushing around with them or mad panic shouting at people that they are busy they just work on in the background until their tasks are done.

I feel she is very overwhelmed and she is struggling with her workload ( even if it's only one task) and therefore uses she is busy as an excuse to get people to leave her alone.

Well, I finally watched the only hellman's video I could find, well I watched most of it but some of it was so awful I physically couldn't watch. Did she even make a recipe? I couldn't see one, just a few potatoes cut up.

Why wasn't she ready, why did she faff endlessly, why hadn't she practised using her technology? So many questions

Just watched DKL 7 and thought the mango, white chocolate cake looked like it had some promise,but then it came out looking a bit flat and dense and I felt less enthused.

I think she seemed she coped with cooking better than the lasagne episode but she was still mega awkward as @traumatised sideboard has described.

I'm not a porridge fan and congealed porridge makes me :sick: so that might make me a bit biased on the carrot overnight oats but those were a no from me.
