Jackmaffs:

I'm extremely confused. Are they assuming you cook chilli con carne thirty times a month or something?

So if you made all these recipes in a month, you’d save £248 in energy. So just shy of £3,000. Phenomenonal savings given the price cap is now £1,800 for both gas & electricity. Sloppy analysis for sloppy recipes

I have an air fryer. I like chocolate. I like pears. I'm vegan. I thought I might give her cake a go for the slopalong. But my air fryer doesn't have a steamer function. Of course it bleeping doesn't. Who the duck STEAMS a cake? There are so many people doing this stuff miles better all over the internet, even people with full time day jobs knock up a quick reel of how to make a cake.

I'm absolutely mortified for her.

Oh, the gift of an unexpected chaos ready for the weekend; just like the good old days aka Twitter Tuesdays before she actually did stfu on social media. Adrian must be pretty good at his job to salvage what he has from the ashes of her hitting the self-destruct button once too often on the hell site but thank you for all you do. It keeps the ninnies freshly fed & watered 😊

In a ‘career’ of duck ups and lies, I really thought that she might actually try and do something to rehabilitate her image after this year. But no, an ad so disingenuous that it doesn’t work and is a pack of lies. On brand for her of course!
I don’t know why I thought she might try harder, I must be as stupid as her.

Good grief.
My thoughts, as I'm sure you've all been waiting for them.... 🙃
Dogshit lazy calorie- and flavour-deficient recipes that I very much doubt have been "triple tested".
Why does she have recipes tailored to six different niche and fairly expensive appliances? So accessible, wow. It makes a compete mockery of her previous stance on Instant pots/pressure cookers and air fryers.
Her crow's feet are baaaaaad for someone in their mid 30s.
Shame on everyone involved in this ridiculous lazy campaign that helps nobody and nothing except Jack's bank account.

If all sugars are interchangeable, and all fats/oils are too.. why aren’t cooking appliances?

If all tins are tins… why aren’t all air fryers air fryers?

If air fryers and pressure cookers are such money saving miracles why doesn’t she include them in any of her seven books including the one specifically written for kitchen thriftiness?

Why did she say she doesn’t use specialist equipment and doesn’t cater for said appliances in her books as she doesn’t have them but has also previously said she slow cooks tea (the drink tea, not the northern meal!)

If money saving was the goal, why would a £250 appliance and £15 of ingredients be the best way to obtain a cake you can buy even in M&S for £3?

Why are Currys promoting half or even 1/3 portions - as the recipes aren’t costed, I can only assume it’s because you can’t make a meal for 6 in an air fryer, it won’t physically fit if you used the actual recommended serving size.

I wonder how many times she’s ‘developed’ a recipe only for it to be a rehash of a previous slop, a badly hacked version of a BBC food recipe, or both?!

Also, did she air fry that wig before she glued it to her grifting bonce?!

Okay, let's have a look at exactly how money saving these recipes are, and it has nothing to do with actual ingredients.

Guest has cobbled together 9 different recipes, but in order to actually make all of them you don't just need an air fryer - you need 6 DIFFERENT APPLIANCES:

Tefal Turbo Cuisine Pressure Cooker - £79.99
Tefal Easy Fry Dual Zone Air Fryer and Grill - £209.00
Crock Pot CSC063 Slow Cooker - £59.99
NINJA Foodi MAX Dual Zone AF4OOUK Air Fryer – Black - £219.99
Ninja Foodi 11-in-1 SmartLid - £249.00
Breville Halo Steam Air Fryer - £179.00

Total cost before you even start cooking: £996.97

Which makes you wonder if she even attempted to use a pressure cooker. I bet she's just changed a couple of words from one of her old slops, which is why is still says 'slow cook'

Given the amount of liquid she includes in that recipe (autocomplete suggested "for disaster" when I typed recipe and who am I to argue?), yes, she's just updated one of her old slops.

But at £78/month savings Mrs P, by next Xmas all that kit will have paid for itself. The more you use it, the more you'll save. Sod it, let's make sodding dinner for the whole sodding street!
The "could" in those projected savings is doing a lot of work. Equivalent to bench pressing our late monarch, in heavy lifting parlance.

Would that £78 a month etc be something for the ASA?
No, I’m afraid not. As it was in a press release targeted at journalists, rather than consumers, it’s not covered by the ASA or CAP. They haven’t even put it on the press releases area of their website, but even then it wouldn’t be covered if it’s clearly aimed at the press. The recipes on the Currys website - which are targeted directly at consumers - don’t include the same nonsensical claims about saving £3k a year. Sorry (Currys’ comms team breathing a sigh of relief).
