Yes that is correctThe boys high school is on the same plot of land so she might not actually be lying this time.

There used to be the 'direct debit guarantee' whereby you had to be given 30 day's (I think...certainly quite a while) notice on a change of amount....is that still not the case?I think it's because the energy company can change the amount of a DD (e.g. if your costs are higher than your monthly charge) without asking you so some people have been finding themselves with massive bills. A SO is a fixed amount.
Jack needs to be really careful here as energy companies can go quite hard on people, but they generally choose not to, but if they decided to make a point and lots of people end up on pre-payment that's no good for anyone

Can we revisit her I'm 10 Days Sober and Thus Can Impart Unto You All My Wisdom phase?
I have been tracking what I spent on alcohol last year by going through old receipts and bank statements.
having 'failed' grammar school having left without the 5 A*-C. At around 11:45 she describes herself as 'not very well educated' because she used to smoke with the boys!
As I understand it, the money will be credited to your electricity/gas account. Its not necessarily direct debit related.I have a question. Energy bills terrify me so I absorb the info I need to and carry on.
The £400 discount is being given (for those normally on dd) by having deductions off dd. If the squigs have cancelled their dd and set up so (which is unusual surely?) then this discount will be much harder to sort out?
Obviously this will not be relevant to those on different types of payment/meter.
Had not heard about the £400 discount, thank you all!
Not to go back to rinsed hoops but, I have been reminded of a pasta dish I had regularly as a child that no one on all of Google seems to have ever written about.....has anyone ever had pasta in butter and tomato ketchup? We were not certified poors™ but my mum does not enjoy cooking so preferred the easier options. Another favourite pasta tea was flat noodles with a sauce made of cream and bisto, sometimes with added chicken. These, to my childhood memory, were delicious and easy/straightforward/low waste. I will never stop being surprised at Jack's ability to make food needlessly complicated, faffy, nonsensical, or unappetising while also being completely overblown. Does she enjoy food? It comes across as charade of stories, like she is promoting the idea of something she does not really live or understand.
I know it's wrong, but I quite fancy that toastie. It is really confusing isn’t it? Mainly because there are so many ways people pay and so many types of meter.
People are scared, not helped by the constant bombardment from the media and incorrect information spread by the likes of Jack.
She needs to wind her neck in.
Fruity creamy toastie from 2017 to soften everyone up?
I’m off to walk the 6 miles to my nearest Asda (Cadbury’s mega buttons have been released)

Long time lurker here. I thought the same but I'm sure that he posted recently that he was on holiday? Apologies if I've got this wrongMartin Lewis should really step in and publicly tell jack she's ~talking pony~ with her energy advice, given that she enjoys linking herself to him. Call her out Martin.

I am with octopus energy, I have recently upped my DD so it can cover some of the winter bill by being in credit - Octopus have a "balance Forecast" which shows the direct debits going forward into next year. They are showing a reduction of £66.67 of my DD between October and March as they think thats how the rebate will work. That tells me that it will likely be how it works but also that it isn't confirmed yet.As I understand it, the money will be credited to your electricity/gas account. What makes you think that would work on someone who blithely gallivants around on MOD firing ranges?
Yes, agree with one story. The last thing any creditor wants to do is to take formal action against anyone as that costs them a lot of money and brings no reward for their shareholders. So, try to budget to put aside as much as you can (I’m sure you are and I’m not trying to be patronising) but do keep records to be able to demonstrate that to them that you are doing everything that you can to budget and pay the bill. Maybe, even keep a headline record of each month I had this income which went on x, y and z(just roughly). I would imagine that they will be expecting to deal with people negotiating payments as best they can. Where they will have little sympathy is the head in the sand approach of little discussions and throwing your toys out the pram and demanding to just pay 78£!!! And then we can all just hope and pray that a more sustainable way forward is worked out at a higher government level that protects people.I have to say I'm bricking it about my winter energy costs but the one thing keeping me going is the howls that will come from the crappy bungalow.
HiWait, the Queen of Povvos doesn't already track her spending? I could tell you to the penny how much I've spent on alcohol and dining out in the last twelve months, but that's because I budget and I track my spending (which is partly how I knew I was drinking too much and decided to stop). I'm just flabberghasted that someone who claim,s to be so poor and barely scraping by doesn't track her spending at all, even by scribbling it down in a notebook.
(Hi, I'm new).
