You get the money whether you pay by DD or not, is my understanding. Everyone is entitled to it. It is just easier for them to apply it if you pay by DD, and will likely take longer if you don’t.
I am meticulous about submitting my meter readings now after a chaotic year in which I had too much going on to remember and ended up owing £800 at the end of the year.
If people choose the amount they want to pay as per the pixie’s advice, they will still owe the money for the actual amount used. They won’t just say ‘ah you’ve given it a good go, we’ll let you off the rest’.
She’s a bleeping idiot.

I had my electricity cut off years ago, because the previous tenant of the flat had run up a huge bill and left without paying it or telling the electricity company that they were leaving.

Two men came to the flat with big pliers and did something to the supply.

After they had left I discovered they had left me with power in one of the rooms... I'm pretty sure it wasn't an accident and they were being kind.

WITH HUGE HUGE GROVELLING APOLOGIES TO ALL SCOTTISH FRAUS but it was just too good to resist.

I don’t understand. Sorry for being a moron.

I think I am just concerned that if people are worried enough to cancel their dd, they will be in desperate need of that £400 come October. If the dd isn’t there the first discount can’t be applied and the stress levels will increase even more.

Ah you're not a moron, thanks for mentioning this, said in the last thread I'm only paying for what we use at the moment and potential issues with the £400 in October hadn't even occurred to me ❤

The rebate is applied directly to the bill. I.e. you used 1500£ energy and the rebate takes the bill down to 1100£. the ddr or STO is merely a method of paying the bill. As is making a bank payment or sending a cheque (assuming they still even exist). So, it shouldn't matter from that perspective. Of course, if as advised by Energy Jack you had decided to only pay 78£ A month it would mean that your resultant bill could be huge.

It is really confusing isn’t it? Mainly because there are so many ways people pay and so many types of meter.

People are scared, not helped by the constant bombardment from the media and incorrect information spread by the likes of Jack.

She needs to wind her neck in.

Fruity creamy toastie from 2017 to soften everyone up?

I’m off to walk the 6 miles to my nearest Asda (Cadbury’s mega buttons have been released)

The only thing that belongs on toasted fruit bread is butter.

Had not heard about the £400 discount, thank you all!

Not to go back to rinsed hoops but, I have been reminded of a pasta dish I had regularly as a child that no one on all of Google seems to have ever written about.....has anyone ever had pasta in butter and tomato ketchup? We were not certified poors™ but my mum does not enjoy cooking so preferred the easier options. Another favourite pasta tea was flat noodles with a sauce made of cream and bisto, sometimes with added chicken. These, to my childhood memory, were delicious and easy/straightforward/low waste. I will never stop being surprised at Jack's ability to make food needlessly complicated, faffy, nonsensical, or unappetising while also being completely overblown. Does she enjoy food? It comes across as charade of stories, like she is promoting the idea of something she does not really live or understand.

I am convinced she does not eat her own food, hence lack of pictures from so called 'food blogger'. I doubt she even tries half the recipes she makes up, just slops it on the page.

From where i am sitting i dont believe she enjoys food at all its merely sustenance that she pretends to make fancy.

I have to say I'm bricking it about my winter energy costs but the one thing keeping me going is the howls that will come from the crappy bungalow.
Dont worry, just be careful and keep in contact with your energy supplier. They are not all ogres and they will find ways to help.
