My old career ended due to ~reasons~ but thanks to getting better am starting a new one ( very, very slowly). We don’t need to crow about it on SM when the country is on fire.

However, we all have bucket lists. My bucket list includes (in no particular order and definitely not ready to laminate)…

1. Wearing a grey pouffy dress on a bridge in Paris
2. Running western states endurance run
3. Hugging a koala
4. Asking Jack “why?”
5. Living in a certain East Hampton house owned by a cook and her husband for a while.

So because I looked up her this morning recipe segment on youtube I got her interview with James O Brien recommended to me and like in the first 2 mins she was laughing about the fact that "she said something mean about David Cameron, once" and when James O Brian said "we've all said something mean about about David Cameron" she rolls her eyes and says something like "yes but only one person gets it thrown in their face on a near daily basis,"

She really doesn't get what was so wrong with what she said does she?

I can’t sit through all that...but when she rattles off the origin story time after time after time it just becomes clearer that she didn’t/doesn’t care about issues that don’t affect her personally.

She says in that video she got into ‘politics’ after becoming outraged at an article blaming single mothers and drug users for the decline of the high street. Guarantee she wouldn’t have given two shits if she wasn’t a single mother herself. I think you can pin point the moment here that Jack Monroe decided she was oh so oppressed and had it harder than everyone else.

She's so resentful about having to pay her own rent. She'd be exactly the same if she had to pay a mortgage. Why make it sound so laborious and why singular one rent cheque at a time?
Why not just treat it as part of your essential outgoings rather than making it sound like an unfair punishment?
And who says rent cheque? Do people say this and I've missed it?

I had a narc hole boss. A colleague mentioned an area of interest that someone might have as a hobby. He’d never heard of it. Week later he was an EXPERT and had loads of stuff and was well known in the community (he said). Performance bollocks.

This is exactly it. No matter how niche a hobby/book or disgustingly unusual food that some nutter has put together, she has already done it with fecking bells on.

120 recipes - 9 copies, 3 on loan
Bstrap - 6 copies, 1 on loan

TCC - 12 copies, 1 on loan
GFFBD - 6 copies, 1 on loan

Not great stats for 101 libraries, is it?? Can't really be classed as one of the most borrowed books when it's not bloody even in most of them.

I’m really enjoying the thought that you fraus all visited your local libraries to count the copies! That would be complete dedication and worth it to prove Miss Snarky Pants a liar again.

What happened in spring 2021 to make her think her career was over? I suspect it was something said behind the scenes that she was in trouble for. I don’t think work slowly petering out would have enough of an effect on a narc to make them think their career is over.

Was it the aftermath of the Linda McCartney viggle tit storm? When she was desperately tweeting about vegan cheese in the February after Veganuary, I felt it was for the benefit of Linda McCartney who she had probably misrepresented herself as some percentage “vegan” to. I wonder if the viggle complaints actually got her in trouble.

Same with missing her book deadline for the millionth time.

Or maybe she’d had terrible feedback from her other brand partners, or agent, or media professionals.

What happened in spring 2021 to make her think her career was over? I suspect it was something said behind the scenes that she was in trouble for. I don’t think work slowly petering out would have enough of an effect on a narc to make them think their career is over.

I read it as she was half dead rather than her career (and also suicidal: "working to get over the other half of that particular line") however with her terrible writing style it's quite hard to parse.

I'm guessing she's coming up to one year sober (ish her timelines are a bit squiffy)
