I'm waiting for an adhd assessment and I think part of the reason I read these threads (apart from the drama, Mick) is that I see the parts of myself that I hate reflected in Jack. Like when someone is really grating your mushrooms, and you realise it's because they are acting out a behaviour that you dislike in your own personality (hope this makes sense).

To comment on jack's tweet about being bullied for adhd traits, seemingly refering to the cabal: sometimes I read comments on here about jack's disorganisation, inefficiency, half-finished and abandoned projects, time keeping etc, and I feel panicky because I agonise that these are the sorts of things my colleagues say about me.

HOWEVER, when you actually unpick what's being said - it isn't these qualities that the cabal find infuriating, although they come into it. As I understand it, what winds people up is the total lack of accountability, the dishonesty, and the lack of consideration for others (e.g. continuously making promises she can't keep).

I think Jack's behaviour is sort of weirdly helpful for me to analyse and sort into a) things that are a genuine struggle due to her adhd, and b) her responding to these things by being a head.

I'm no expert on ADHD but I have read a lot about it this year, and it's a real and v disruptive condition that is misunderstood and under-recognised in women. I don't think the way Jack behaves is helpful to the wider public understanding of ADHD, or neurodivergence in general.

Just wanted to get that off my chest. Sorry for the essay.

P.s. to echo the sentiments of many other lurkers: you're all hilarious and have brought me a lot of laughs over the past year xxx

I mean I definitely have ‘traits’ but not enough that at my age it would be worth pursuing a diagnosis and I don’t really want to take brain meds long term because of a bad experience being on early SSRIs for far too long. Although I procrastinate and take right up til the deadline to do things and I kick myself for wasting time, I still manage to get my work done, feed my family, wash clothes and check homework. Thinks like flossing my teeth daily and cleaning unless someone is coming over, not so much.

The main thing that pisses me off is the patreon I think. Either make amends and sort out the backlog of promised posts/postcards/whatever the duck she was offering or CLOSE THAT tit DOWN. Also pay your taxes.

I like this theory, but if I was going through that exciting loved-up phase, the last thing I‘d be doing is saying goodnight to the whole of Twitter.

This thing of RSM - isn’t it exactly what Jack was planning to do? Collecting and publishing stories from poor people? Won’t Jack be bothered about someone else getting “up in her niche”, or has she moved on now she’s reduced to hoiking the old tits out in DIVA? 🤔

My 23 year old daughter has just been assessed for ADHD ( which she arranged herself online) and been given a diagnosis , but not yet started any medication- in fact has a remote tele rev today
She was diagnosed with dyslexia, dyscalculia and dyspraxia when she was 11 and had an ECHP which alowed for extra time in exams- but very limited further help available ( we are a family of dyslexics as husband , elder daughter and son all have various 'dys' and have had to fight with education dept for any assistance whatsoever -could write a book about the struggles we've had!)
However we have all managed to 'overcome' these issues- not at all easily- and were able to achieve more than 41/2 GCSEs and all have University degrees real ones , not honorary!
in fact daughter has a first class Business degree and has just flown half way across the world and started work in sample development with a fashion business and is now based in Indonesia ...I'm so proud of her achievements and how resilient she is to move across the world during a pandemic on her own! ( including 8 days quarantine in a hotel in Jakarta!);
I always had my suspicions that daughter had adhd as a little girl as she craved 'high adrenaline' situations and never like to just 'be' and has to write list to keep her focused but at same time she is driven and has dreams she wants to follow
I'd advise anyone to with suspicions of a spld ( specific learning disability), with yourself or a family member to trust your instincts and push for a diagnosis and support - there is help available , but it's still poorly funded and too many children ( and adults) still don't realise their potential
meanwhile Jack continues to be a martyr and pisses me off!

Oh look, another two bit, talentless influencer has taken it upon herself to speak for “the poor” in the hope of making bank. Brilliant. Lucky, lucky poor people. So lucky.

But the problem is she thinks she’s an amazing presenter though perhaps not up to Emma Willis or Bradley Walsh standard and for that reason, we were critical of it.

That’s a shocking lack of self-awareness. It’s one thing to be confident and in some situations, arrogance can be justified to an extent. But she really thinks everything she turns her hand at is just fantastic and we’re picking faults with her for no reason. Shocking.

It’s Recovery (from anything) 101 - go out and “see the trees and flowers for the first time”. Give it a couple of weeks and those leaves will fall, it’ll rain and she’ll be writing to her old pal at Israel Street, because where there’s blame there’s a claim 🙄
