I wonder where Cooper and the rabbit are. Hopefully at her parents house.
Is the caravan holiday a pov cosplay ? Caravan hire isn’t especially cheap really unless you fill them up and take all your own food. A lot of parks are difficult to actually get to without access to a car so using trains and buses, a taxi for the final stretch takes forever and that’s before you think about transporting the groceries as well. On-site shops are very expensive.
Can’t see spoiled Jack bothering with all that.
I wish she would just for a minute realise how privileged she is.

Yep, this. Rich people like Corbs and Nige who did childhood holidays to France as a regular summer thing plus more exotic locations with a little less regularity see a caravan and they’re like “omg so totes working class, a chemical toilet???” but genuinely poor people cannot and have not for a long time been able to afford caravan holidays.

There was the hierarchy amongst people I went to school with: the ones who went to France or, in a lean year, Center Parcs (middle class); the ones who went to Florida (well off working class, flexing); the ones who went caravanning (WC but you still needed a car and some spare dollar). We had no car or money so did days out that were bussable, instead. And that still basically bankrupted our mum.

Especially in a year where people are paying absolutely monster premiums to have any kind of holiday around the UK Jack (or benefactor) will have paid probably thousands for this. But regardless, she’s got what she wanted: twats with absolutely no idea about money will think she has none. That’s all that matters to her. The grift goes on.

yep same here. Even now being able to afford stuff as b adult, caravan holidays this year are ridiculously expensive. Which I really hope means that she has invested in proper quality time with her son while she’s there.

When I was a youngster a car was a measure of being well off. I am on a lovely group on FB but the amount of people who say oh, we were terribly poor we only went on holiday once a year and all our camping stuff was crammed into the car for a fortnight in Cornwall. Ha !
Every year in my town there is a fake beach set up and it’s so enjoyed.
My great niece is in Skipsea with her family and her neighbours 2 children, 5 and 7. Their first time being at the seaside.
They don’t live in shoeboxes or eat grit but sheesh. A holiday is a treat.

I observed a sentient mirror in the wild today! Will report back if I notice the machines taking over.

This is 100% what middle class people think poor people do on holiday. It's so far from the reality it's insulting.
Everything she posts insults me in one way or another.
Jack thinks she is enjoying her pov caravan holiday.
How anyone can take joy out of life when there is an overwhelming need for attention from strangers and I can’t begin to think of the pressure of the grift. She is welcome to her caravan.
I hope you are doing well @MancBee x

Poca I am hooting at 'embroidered soil pocket', it sounds like a euphemism. I'm pretty sure her drawing says Feb 11 by the way. How embarrassing that she felt the need to sign it as well, like her work is going to be highly sought-after and people will want to know if they've got an authentic Mousse. Also I thought the stones in pockets thing was actually a Virginia Woolf reference, especially she mentions the beckoning lip of a sea curling. That's just my interpretation, as a well-regarded poetry scholar previous owner of a GCSE poetry anthology.

The stones in the pocket was a deliberate trigger Jackwoeisme Virginia Woolf reference. She only thought blue tickers would get it cos she knows and us plebs don’t. Well, that’s what she thinks. What on earth does she think ?

Ffs shes not quoting VW now. Whats next the entire dialogue of Romeos speech at Juliets altar. duck off love.

Id think she be more an Oscar Wilde person. "All of us are in the gutter but some of us are looking at the stars."

I love this quote so she better duck off from it.

Sorry the whole Afghanistan thing is upsetting me. I have no time of her bullshit drivel.

I sometimes read too much into small things but this reply from a IRL friend of Jacks definitely suggests more than two in the caravan. Along with the BubbleBuddy/Housemate/VeryGoodFriend still being somewhat Southend based apparently, it certainly makes you wonder, doesn’t it. Of course, there are half siblings and a father in the mix too, so they could be there as a group also.

Interesting talk about class and caravan holidays. We had camping stuff and we were pretty poor. Then, when things got seriously poor, even that went by the wayside. We didn’t feel like we missed out though - we did the old “staying at my mates” thing and did a lot of camping out as a gang of mates. And we got some day trips here and there. Once, we had a family friend offer us a week in a static in Ingoldmells. It was magnificent. And we had a childless uncle and aunt that had us for a week in the summer - again, was amazing.

She really doesn’t know how privileged she is, does she. And so achingly middle class.
