with how absolutely buck fucking wild the world seems to have been lately, I really enjoy it the show because it feels so normal and despite MH’s presence it feels like things used to feel - ie not horrendously fraught. The fact they’re able to get on is really reassuring. Babatunde probably doesn’t think highly of Matt politically but he’s able to have a chat with him about things that matter and have a laugh. Treating someone like a normal human doesn’t mean you’ve betrayed your politics nor does it mean you can’t ask questions. At the end of the day they are spending days on end with him and it would be be hellish if they were constantly hostile to one another.

We should be able to have political conversations respectfully but also I think it’s good to know when to move on and discuss something else. Just think people all over the political spectrum need to take it back a few notches.

I really enjoy owen’s earnestness. He isn’t going to be a paid writer any time soon but so what, he’s nice and positive and it’s nice to see.

The thing is almost all of the Matt politics stuff has been said 50 times before. Unless it's talking about something new there's no need to say it all again, and again. Agree to disagree and move on.

Taking about recent stuff: I don't think there's anything wrong with Matt asking if there's leftovers. We don't know the timings so could have been many hours since the BBQ and going from famine to feast might make you only able to eat a smallish amount and be hungry not long after. If anyone has an issue with a request (not a demand) should say something to his face so we could at least here him more explain the context and rational. Just a simple "eh didn't you just have a BBQ!?" would suffice.

Thinking Matt could win, doesn’t make you gullible or that you’ve been tricked - I’d argue it shows a higher level of emotional intelligence to show someone that has done wrong, made mistakes a little empathy and also be able to say he’s done well and give credit where it’s due.

I disagree entirely. I think he’s actually socially quite awkward and you can see he talks more in small groups than he does when they’re all together.

We must be watching entirely different shows as I haven’t seen any evidence to suggest he doesn’t think the camp mates are his equal. I haven’t seen him talk down to anyone or be rude.

I do think he appears to be socially awkward in some ways. (Hello, Ed Sheeran! )

He knows that he can't work the whole camp at once though (he tried early on but misjudged their characters and/or underestimated the strength of feeling and failed to win them over as a group) so he has to work on smaller groups instead. It's tactics.

Bone-gate & veggie-gate indicates that he sees himself as more deserving. Why was his need greater than theirs?

My OH occasionally forgets to get rid of his manky shaving crud but when I complain! he realises, he'll clear it up...no biggy. If I mentioned it and he looked at me all incredulous, telling me it was no big deal and would only take (me!) a second to clean it away, I'd ask him what his last slave died of! And that's my partner. Who the hell wants to volunteer to be personal chamber maid for some guy you've only just met? And what kind of guy would happily let you?!!!

For me, the worst part was when Matt tried to imply that Sue was being petty - he was also belittling her, trying to turn it back on her to make her look stupid in front of the group. That was rude!

I am talking about Hancock breaking his own COVID rules, giving his mates massive contacts (£12 Billion for Track and Trace alone). That's ignoring his Government's appalling handling of the whole thing.

Pretty much the fact that as health secretary he broken the rules he helped put it to place. I’m not going to put my personal life on here, but like many others I was affected by it and followed the rules and to see him breaking them made me think what the fuck.
So yes I dislike him immensely and can’t separate him from that to just a camp mate in the jungle.

Not at all IMO. He's got gigs lined up for next year and still has a fan base. Those that like his music won't care about this show at all. Questioning Matt Hancock is hardly crime of the century and George likes to be contrary anyway, it's a badge of honor for him.

I think he is getting better gigs since PK took over as his manager. PK seems to be doing a really good job. Credit where it's due. I really don't think that BG has come across badly. I was expecting him to be far more of a bitchy diva than he has been. He said his piece about Matt but he's also been upfront about his views to his face. He's made a few comments in the Bush telegraph but I don't think he's said anything particularly nasty, hateful or outrageous. I'm actually a bit disappointed that he hasn't

IMO he's going to worry too much about anything he's done on the show so far, and he seems to get on reasonably well with most of the people in camp.

I’ve warmed to all of them except Matt Hancock, Chris Moyles and Two Poo Sue.

I like BG. Ok he’s bitchy but he sees through a lot of BS. He’s interesting to watch.

Seann is my fave but I’m biased cos I know him and he’s lovely.

Babs and Mike…both nice enough but a little dull.

Owen is sweet and not as dim as he makes out.

I think Jill will win.

Not sure if they went to school but yes he is friendly with CK and she is a Corrie actress so that is probably how he knows Sue and palled up with her in the jungle. It may also be pertinent to speculate that he was safer cosying up to an older more mature lady rather than a younger one as he was less likely to get a frying pan round his head when he got home.

He went to Queen Elizabeth Grammar School in Wakefield (fee paying) and Kathryn Kelly went to the girls school and they were friends there. Their parents also live near each other. This is the reason she was at the wedding. Sue Cleaver is 59 and KK is 43 so can't see them mixing in the same social circles even though they were both in Corrie.
