This.

I am astonished that people have fallen for his bullshit.

ITV are playing a very dangerous game here, given the (totally justified) hate of that greedy dishonest cunt, if he doesn't go soon it could be the end of the show.

Some people on this thread might have decided to ignore his past actions and the fact that taxpayers are paying for his lovely holiday - but don't assume that the rest of us have. There is very real anger about this, and it's not going away anytime soon.
Fallen for his bullshit? Do you think Matt Hancock personally killed all the victims of Covid out of curiosity? You do know that it wasn’t just Matt who made his mind up about the rules that was made, it was just because he was the health secretary at the time he had to make them announcements and was basically the face of them. This is a game show, it’s meant to make people talk, it’s meant to turn viewers against celebrities or more so in Matt’s case, favour them. It’s how they make their money I’m afraid and I’m not sure how the taxpayer is paying for his holiday. ITV are???

All the ppl reaching to demonise Matt make me vote for him. Stupid as most of the rules were the same in other countries. Would you really rather you could have visited family during a pandemic and spread it more? Imagine if he had of said go ahead do what you feel right, people would still blame him. He had an affair with a member of his staff who he saw anyway.
Silly blaming one person for it all. Boogyman mentality that's rather stupid.

I am talking about Hancock breaking his own COVID rules, giving his mates massive contacts (£12 Billion for Track and Trace alone). That's ignoring his Government's appalling handling of the whole thing.

We agree though that he was the Health Secretary during COVID so the buck stops here. Why on Earth do you think it doesn't? Just out of curiosity.

Hancock isn't a celebrity - he is a sitting MP who is still being paid his massive salary by taxpayers whilst also being paid for the show. And he is already a multimillionaire. Do you think this is acceptable?

Yes it's a Game Show - my point in posting today was that he is now favourite to win on here. I can't get my head round how people can be so gullible after everything this cunt has done. He takes no responsibility and has not apologised.

You are being played but you refuse to see it.

Exactly. If people hadn’t been pontificating I wouldn’t have been voting for him every night. Absolutely destest self-righteous virtue signallers; they harm their own causes each and every time.

If memory serves me correctly (which isn’t always the case! 😳), didn't Mike go to school with ex Corrie actress Katherine Kelly?
Not sure if they went to school but yes he is friendly with CK and she is a Corrie actress so that is probably how he knows Sue and palled up with her in the jungle. It may also be pertinent to speculate that he was safer cosying up to an older more mature lady rather than a younger one as he was less likely to get a frying pan round his head when he got home.

More to do with his dishonesty and greed with the PPE contracts than anything

I on the other hand dislike him based on his personality. I decided that I wouldn't pre judge anyone based on prior behaviour and I certainly don't hold Matt solely responsible for his part in Tory policy during the pandemic. I don't even care about him cheating on his wife.

He's proved that he's unafraid of doing trials but that doesn't make me like him. He's a personality vacuum and appears very socially awkward and cringey around his fellow campmates. If I thought he was witty and/or a genuinely nice bloke I would support him but he comes across as extremely calculating from where I'm sitting.

😆 All this morale superiority, I'm right and so much cleverer than you because my opinion is the truth and everyone who doesn't agree is wrong 🤪
It's all black and white for people with no shades of grey. That there is the problem.
😄 Yes that certainly true of people on both sides here.

I watch this show for a laugh and to be entertained. Couldn't care less about anyone's 'morals' or what they've done before.

I could care less about the cheating, that’s a personal moral issue which obviously had a detrimental effect on his family but is none of the public’s business in my opinion. My problem is that he gave massive amounts of public money to his mates then lied and tried to avoid publishing the contracts, he (alongside his colleagues) made decisions that led to thousands of deaths in care homes, and he expected the plebs to abide by his rules when he couldn’t do so himself. The worst bit is that he stands by all of these decisions and tries to blame everyone but himself for the result.

At best he’s a complete hypocrite, at worst he’s a criminal who will hopefully face justice one day if he keeps having to answer to the high court. He can win all the stars he wants, as he knows more trials = more air time. Nothing to do with being a team player

I think over the last few years that the camp mates have become very aware of how they are coming across to the public and are being careful about what they say, or saying things/behaving in ways they think will be popular with the public (like bitching about Matt). As a result, the interactions are either quite boring or forced.

I think the camp mates reluctance to volunteer for trials has a lot to do with this as well... They don't want to fail in front of millions, and I think they've been spooked by the poor performance of one or two of them in the first week. I think they'd rather take a chance that their popularity will get them through and rely on Matt and a select few others to do the hard work.

BG is a tough one for me. I love his bitchiness and I respect him for saying to Matts face what others are saying behind his back. I didn't think I'd root for him to win but he's been probably the most interesting camp mate this year. I love Jill and Mike too, for being calm and cool in their trials but they haven't stood out from the rest of them particularly in general camp scenes.

Precisely. They truly think they’re ‘educating’ us 🤣

Now, slowly: we realize he’s playing a game. We just support him at that game, that’s all. Good luck to him; he’s pulling it off and it’s good to see.

NO!
The buck stopped with Johnson as PM not the Health Secretary. How many times do I have to say this?

There is the rule also of collective Cabinet responsibility. All of the government are responsible for all decisions. In this case, though, Johnson put sychophants in his cabinet who he knew would do his bidding. I think he put Hancock in there because he knew how ambitious he was.

Just did a Google and yes they were at school together and Mike is her daughter’s godfather and she is godmother to Lena so it’s a much closer friendship than I thought.

Missing the point. It's the fact he broke his own guidelines for a bunk-up while preaching to the public to follow them.

Oh gosh yes a very longstanding and strong friendship

I broke Hancock’s rules as well, didn’t a majority do the same? I can safely put my hand on my heart and say I was not letting someone I didn’t know determine whether I can or cannot see my loved ones and most of this ridiculous hatred for him is because they are bitter they followed the rules and was scared of the repercussions that were threatened against them which tells me more about the person who followed them than the government (thank god I’m not that person!). Speaking honestly and truthfully if you was paying someone to do your driveway would you rather give the money to your own friend who was a bricklayer or just an average Joe?

At the end of the day, we was in the middle of a worldwide pandemic it was the blind leading the blind do I blame him?! No! Do I blame the government? NO!

No one not even the medical professionals knew what they were up against. I notice you’ve slagged him off to the highest grade but I bet you was first in line when you was called up for the Covid vaccine that HIS government “appallingly” handled?

Putting politics aside, I get why matt was popular in the early days when he was doing all the trials but now I find him a bit boring so surprised he is still popular. Also certain things (like the shaving bowl) show an entitled and not particularly nice side of his character. Matt has also been on Loose Women before so his desire for a media career isn't new, the signs have been there for a while.

Owen, Jill and Seann are my favourites. I want to like Mike more but he is just a bit dull

Matt isn’t the only serving politician to be on IAC UK

No one has to like him, he is there as an approved and valid contestant.

Plenty do find his apologies sincere, plenty don’t. All good.

Deffo he is earning IAC lots of money though as his participation is dividing!

I checked his net worth he doesn’t seem to be a multimillionaire, though he is definitely not skint.

I wouldn’t mind to read any biography he pens, am sure there is a lot of whistleblowing to hear!
