Horror films

Just watch says nowhere is streaming it for free oddly (given the month!) But you can rent it for £3.49 on Amazon, Apple, Sky, Youtube etc.

This is why I hoover up cheap second hand blu rays whenever possible, always nice to have the option when you want it.

Host is fantastic! Shame the director's follow up wasn't great by all accounts, haven't seen it yet.
I actually liked it. People didn't seem to like the fact that the main protagonist was unlikeable, but it didn't really bother me. It's creepy and twisty.

Has anyone seen Talk To Me? I thought it was good, but people have been absolutely RAVING about it, and I didn't think i was THAT good.

Mind you, I though Barbarian was meh.

I didn't mind Barbarian but I think it really pinned it all on the core concept (instinctive trust calls) rather than the execution and it suffers for that.

I really liked Talk to Me, I don't think it was the greatest horror film ever made or anything but it certainly was fresh. I think the cast helped, everyone being pretty much unknown except Eowyn. Also despite it being released under the A24 banner it is definitely not an A24 film which I think was a nice surprise for a lot of people. It definitely has a strong finish, which is where a lot of similar efforts fall down.

I liked the first maybe half hour of Barbarian (I had gone into it totally blind and so had no idea what it was actually about) but when the actual story kicked in I was SUPER disappointed. Even though everyone else seemed to love it, I thought it was ridiculous.

kind of agree with you. Barabarian was quite a strange mix of genres. It started off well, really unsettling, but then it started jumping all over the place in terms of tone. I suppose it was at least different 🤣 the ending was quite comical. Felt quite disjointed to me.

Has anyone seen Boogeyman? Just been added to Disney plus debating watching it

That's my viewing for tonight sorted then! I haven't seen it but have seen a lot of hype about it being pretty scary and people saying it really hit them because they had a fear of the dark as a child.

Hi there! Any suggestion on horror/Halloween movies to watch that are on Netflix/Iplayer/prime? Happy with gore/jump scares!
Netflix have a Halloween section at the min. A few of my faves featured:
- House at the end of the street
- all the Saws
- I see you
- evil dead movies (silly but gory)

the selection isn’t great, especially if you’re like me and not a fan of paranormal horror. I’ve started that new horror series but only 2 episodes in…it’s okay.

Prime -
- Hell house (I’ve only seen the first one but did quite enjoy this, freaked me out)
- The pact from 2012 (to rent/pay)…this is one of my underrated horrors. Loved it.
- The Collector (both movies) again I think these are underrated and scared me the first time I watched them!

Hell House LLC ? I've watched all three. Quite enjoyed them.

I’m going away with work this week so just been looking on them all for stuff to watch:

Netflix - already covered by @IGiveUp22 with the Saw and Evil Dead movies, the recent one Evil Dead Rise is on there too.

iplayer- Host, Get Out and The Exorcist

Prime (free options) - American Werewolf in London, The Purge and final destination movies are on there. There’s lots of more out there choices on prime versus the others.

If you’ve got Disney + - Fresh, Ready or Not

I saw the new Exorcist last night. I wasn't blown away by it and I thought it fell a bit flat. That said, it was a busy screening with people coming and going plus talking and phones going throughout so I will give it another try when it releases on Sky. I want to like it but it just didn't hit the mark for me.

We are debating about maybe going to a late screening of Saw X tonight as well.
