I feel like they don’t know what to do with him or Roo. I don’t think either need to leave they just need a bit of thought put into them.

Just catching up on today's episode. Justin just walked off without his pizza after his chat with Dean. I love a good continuity error.

They should bring back the school and give Roo a job there. It's strange the school has been gone from the show for so long now. School storylines were always a pretty big part of H&A but I guess there are no teenagers in the show now apart from Ava and I'm not sure how long she'll be sticking around (hopefully not long!)
I won't hear a word against Alf. Legend!
I liked seeing Bella back. I always think it's really stupid how characters never come back to the Bay (I mean, you think Ziggy's family might have visited when the baby was born, haha!) so was good to see her return and give Nikau a proper exit and conclude their storyline.
I still say they need a new family in the show. They've introduced a lot of singletons (the band, Bree, Rose and Xander) but no family unit that would enable them to reintroduce the school etc. Not sure why I'm so obsessed with the reintroduction of the school tbh - I guess I just feel there's something missing from the show at the moment. Maybe it's just that I haven't been really invested in a new character in a while.
It's crazy how they got rid of the school. You don't even see students in their uniforms in the background in places like the diner anymore. Roo was a teacher there but there's no mention of her teaching anymore. They could at least have her still teach in the school without having to show it.
Xander doesn't annoy me as much these days, he seems to have brightened up. So weird for himself and Rose to talk about the fact she couldn't bring herself to sleep with Mali though. Who discusses that with your brother?
Nice to see Nikau and Bella live happily ever after. Doubt you can just move to the US that quickly though but then again this is Summer Bay where pregnancies last a few months, people who get poles lodged in their bodies travel to Greece a few weeks later and newborns are the size of a 6 month old.

Rose and her new bf, who I like individually, are getting on my nerves together!
I get your obsession with the school coming back and a more family feel to the show. I tried to watch it again after Neighbours was axed as felt it would be a good alternative. I just couldn't get in to it again though and my main issues were the lack of family feel and no school..so it's funny that these are both things you have highlighted.

Mac sure has some bad luck with men. Ari left her for Mia, Logan took off and didn't even say goodbye, and then Gabe came back into her life, only to tell her his cancer had returned. Now he's gone too.
She should have hooked up with Tane way back when they had the hots for each other.

I didn't even know soaps existed on here lol. So I stopped watching H&A a while ago after watching since the beginning but want to start again. Have I missed too much? I read the synopsis for this week's and literally don't know who anyone is lol. I last remember watching it when Jasmine had not long left, her weird brother was obsessed with the girl from the car accident, Mack was drinking a lot, but I think I remember she stopped, I think Marilyn was weird. And I think that's all I remember

Dean and Ziggy and Nikau all left recently. Alf's wife has effed off to Merimbula permanently.
Jasmine's brother isn't as weird now - he's about to have a big storyline in the coming months.
Mack cut back on the booze but is away clearing her head after getting back with an ex who then left her because he had terminal cancer and was refusing treatment (which she wanted him to have). Marilyn is grand again.
New character - Marley, mate of Dean's, running the board shop and on/off with Rose (Jasmine's kind of sister). Obsessed with family.
Were the band knocking around before you stopped watching? Leah's nephew is the lead singer. One of the members is his girlfriend, another is seeing Cash and the fourth is on/off with Bree the doctor. Her abusive husband died recently (she dunnit).

Thank you for all that, very much appreciated. I've kind of got my head round some people/storylines, I read all 22 pages on here lol. I've worked out I stopped watching at the beginning of August last year, funnily a lot of posts from that time are people saying its boring, so it makes sense I gave up. I remember I was binge watching Schitts Creek and had loads of H&A on my planner. I deleted most cause I couldn't be bothered watching about 25 episodes, then I deleted the series link cause too long had passed!
I have a few questions if you can be bothered answering? Totally fine if you can't, I'm going to start watching the last couple of episodes from last week then start properly tomorrow
Any storylines happening just now I need a background on?
Dean and Ziggy have a baby?!
I'm guessing annoying Felicity is still in it, along with annoying Rose and annoying Xander?
What's the deal with Ava?
Who are Bree, Remi, Kirby, Marley and Eden?

The band weren't in it when I watched, they were in the synopsis of episodes I had recorded though so I stopped just before they came in.

Dean & Ziggy have left the Bay and moved to Queensland to be with his other kid, Jai.
Ava is a total brat. She's obsessed with Theo.
Mac's ex showed up and they got back together only to then find out his cancer had returned. Last episode I watched, he'd just left her again, and she'd gone to stay at her mum's.
Bree is the new doctor. Her and Remi are on/off. She had an abusive husband/he abducted her/she killed him.
Remi, Kirby & Eden are the band Lyrik
Mali took over the surfboard shop when Dean left. He's dating Rose.
