I didn't find him smug until this week. I don't know if it's the editing, but he came across as quite big headed this week. I didn't notice it as much before.

Syabira is turning into this years Crystelle. This has been about the third week where she has used the same flavours for her signature and her showstopper. It's odd that she does that, because she can clearly bake, so why would you choose to prepare two dishes with the same flavour?

Repeating myself here, so apologies. It’s box ticking now, more than skill I think. All ethnicities , sexual persuasions, ages, looks etc., Carol is the quirky one with the silly hair. This is happening on many reality shows now, and it is so insulting. Some really good bakers will have been rejected in the choosing process. Apart from that, they should be changing the name to The Bake Off, if candidates can enter from other countries.

I think it'll be those three in the final. I like Janusz and Maxy, but I just can't warm to Sandro at all. I love Syabira. I'd love to see her in the final but I don't think she'll make it that far sadly :(

Yes I think you’re right. I don’t think it’s a particularly stand out field this year, but those three seem a lot further ahead than everyone else.
Syabira is lovely but I don’t think Paul likes her creations. Mind you I’m not sure I’d want sweetcorn in a cake either 😆
I think Maxy will win, barring a disaster.

They certainly did not all live in the UK last year, two of them came from other countries, and I am pretty sure one of them does this year

I have read the resumes of the bakers from last year and this, and I may or may not be wrong. Living in the UK does not make a person British. If I move to France to live, I don’t suddenly become French. Though that is being pedantic. I know there was some dismay last year when Giuseppe had lived here only temporarily and went straight back to Italy. I don’t care where the contestants come from, just don’t call the programme British. But this was merely an aside to my post.

Well, I’m old, so perhaps that’s why I take it to mean that candidates have to be British. I would take your point with more interest had you not ruined it with a eye roll. Such condescension undermines any opinion.
