Great British Bake Off #3 2022

Hello, how have I only just found this thread? I’ve caught up and to be honest I’m glad that so many people are feeling the same way as me about Bake Off. It’s really losing its charm.

I thought Noel and Sandi worked very well together, but I don’t like Matt at all. He doesn’t work well with Noel and all of his comedy feels so cringe. The opening skits make me want to shrivel up!

The bakes aren’t working for me either; pizza and tacos? Really? Alongside technicals that are ridiculously difficult, unheard of and without enough time to execute well. I’m guessing production think that the stress and bad bakes make for good TV, but I disagree.

They seem to be struggling for ideas, but I really don’t see how repeating bakes would be a problem. A cake with a particular theme, or a structure made of biscuits, etc. yes they’ve been done but there are so many themes that could stop it being too samey. Those weird meat cake showstoppers made me feel sick. I’m a keen baker and I like to watch and think “I’d like to have a go at that”.

That combined with the endless ads has me zoning out quite a bit these days. It’s a shame!

Anyway that’s my two pence, I’ll still watch tomorrow as always I like Janusz most.

The afternoon tea/petits four challenge was one of my bake off highlights.

Absolutely! There are so many ways they could theme it so we don’t keep seeing the same bakes. It’s a shame.

I think they started doing it the year she was in it!
I love her! I follow her on ig- she practices witchcraft and had a cameo in vampire comedy What We Do In The Shadows
