I kind of wish fellow influencer Venetia La Manna would do a video on TALA. She calls out big brands which is all fair and good but I think a focus could be put more on influencers and their brands. Due to the parasocial relationship Grace and her followers have, TALA can keep getting away with the decline in sustainability, greenwashing, and moving most (probably all) manufacturing to China.
 
It’s so funny to see her answer that question when she hasn’t really had jobs before. Influencer and CEO aren’t typical careers and paths lmao.

Also G, as you manage people, being open to your staff having this kind of conversation with you is so important and a sign of a good leader. A good leader would welcome an employee looking to pivot or grow from their role within an org, and will want guidance on whether it can be achieved.

Every job description she’s published has been a pretty terrible document, full of stupid gimmicks and a huge bio on herself (rather than relevant info about the job people are applying for)

Saying people fixate too much on chasing a title and not looking at what the day to day entails… Babes, you branded yourself a CEO when your job involves trying on clothes and ticking off others’ peoples work day at the hairdressers. You also brag about being “first on the Forbes 30 under 30 list” when it’s alphabetical 😂

I'm a software engineer - and I'm really looking forward to Grace pretending she knows so much about AI!!! Her banging on about the differences between a product and a tech business is also insane because she has an AI product. This is still a product business and more than that - it's a B2C business. I also think it's insane because they've obviously had to hire engineers to build this out, and knowing Grace's history of not paying anyone, I'm hoping her cofounders have had the good sense to pay enough because you need good engineers to have any healthy retention in a tech company - there are enough jobs for good devs. Her describing tech as some monolith is also just making apparent her utter lack of comprehension.

She might have mentioned what the pricing for this is, but I couldn't be bothered to keep reading - but I'm sure it's obscenely priced. I do hope she hasn't gotten a basic ChatGPT wrapper as a product and is selling it (again hoping the ethics of her cofounders are better than hers). She's also talking about a lot of interest from investors - and there is a lot of attraction for AI right now in VC because it's super easy to build impressive demos but I would be shocked if this company didn't go under unless Grace is replaced imminently OR is lying as per about her role. (Also grace stop calling yourself a tester you weirdo, you're only a co-founder because they probably need the visibility of your platform + your personal investment).
 
I just had a little nose to see how the previous company that the blokes involved in this new thing founded was doing… It got bought by another company and was shuttered within a year 😂

Just all seems like a massive circlejerk of knobs with money to burn tbh. I hope this fails as miserably as all the other tech wank out there.

From the looks of the og message from one of the guys involved, they already had the idea and basic build sorted, so she clearly had very little involvement in the actual building of the product.

Just seen this TikTok of Lauren Spearman who reviews job roles and application processes ripping into talas new job opening for head of social media - they ask for a task on application, for a specific launch date, which they will obviously be stealing for content ideas. Once again awful practise from grez sham company

 
Kind of crazy that she sends her employees messages about how she’s too busy/stressed or whatever and then decides to set up another business?

Congrats to the approval queen missing that repeated sentence in her copy x

I find it weird the way she keeps saying “my cofounders” “you are my first cofounders” and some of her phrasing, like it was her idea and she’s brought people in. Similarly with “building it alongside” when the messages do suggest they had already done a chunk of the work and she was the add on. They actually asked her to be an advisor (and miss “don’t chase titles” had to bulldoze cofounder status)

I also don’t really get how it democratises the creator industry?? This may be ignorant because it’s not my industry. But generally aren’t creators already getting paid to he biggest piece of the pie for the least amount of work. So we’re just going to cut out some teams and actually less people will just make money? But that’s Greg all over isn’t it. Fighting for the 2% of women
