I’ve been watching the classic episodes and it astounds me how boring Jimmy is now in the modern episodes. When I say that I don’t mean he was ever exciting but he was a baddie like the rest of the family! And now he’s just under Nico’s thumb and hen pecked!
Senior Tom King growling in the classic at the mo is doing my head in!
I've never understood why they kept Jimmy either, rather it was Matthew!

I agree, and he was never the best character out of them all, so this is why it astounds me that they didn't keep the rest of them and write him out.

I think charity will cotton on to toms lies , just think she’s been distracted because she opened up about her miscarriage to belle and it’s come out belle had an abortion . So if this was in reality , any woman’s view would be temporarily side tracked. I know mine would be if I was in charity’s shoes and I’ve had a miscarriage so her behaviour seems pretty spot on. Charity will come back to the reality if played right though .
Laurel is annoying me again , her character could really showcase signs to look for with her heart issues so viewers will learn something but instead she mopes around with a face on her all the time .

The Val actress dared to ask for a bit of time off to appear in a play.
So they killed the character off.

Always thought she was similar to the Emily character when she first arrived. Then they gradually changed her naivete/ditziness.

The bosses at that time were a bit like that.
Similar with the Viv Windsor actress. She had asked for time off while her kid did GCSE's and again for something else so they wrote her out.
They didn't even give her an on screen death or funeral.
All we got was Marlon and a few others reading a eulogy for her in the Woolpack.

Viv was another character I loved, I can’t believe we lost these two funny and strong characters and ended up with the load we’ve got now. So many boring bland ones, Val and Viv would have made mincemeat of them!

I was just about to say, Viv was another fantastic character. She’s absolutely brilliant in classic emmerdale just now. The classic episodes really show up how utterly tit the current ones are.
I know, I really liked Viv, she was abit of a gossiper, but her character was great!
