OMG... It's Friday, the first day of the vlog, and she's at a ramen place at 11 AM?! Did she ever do any work at that office? Same when she came back from Whistler, 'such a busy morning at work' and she's trying clothes on at Nordstrom... 🙄 I don't think she knows what busy is. To her deleting emails equals busy.

Also, her and Joe were an awful match. His dry sense of humour was clearly challenging to her and he treated her like a slow child.

I'm super sorry for that cat. His fur was messy and matted. I have a senior cat and they need to be brushed and given baths after reaching a certain age. They can't groom themselves properly because they can have arthritis etc., so you need to help them by cleaning them. Younger cats can clean themselves easily but it can be a challenge for older felines, just like with elderly people who may need assistance with washing. Doesn't look like Smelle took good care of Fufu.
Sometimes I wonder if Eleanor Lecocq is Joe's rebound from hell. Elle mentioned that when they met, Joe was fresh out of a breakup and he was probably flattered by the attention Smelle was giving him. She even admitted that she messaged him first on the dating app, and was probably showering a lot of attention on him, cucking in the kitchen and bedroom, and putting on her 10 lbs of makeup and big pageant hair to please him. I bet he wasn't getting that kind of adoration towards the end of his previous relationship and didn't realize that Elle only made all that effort to rope him into a relationship ASAP and use him and his wallet.

Here is the video where they go to Whistler for Elle's work retreat, Joe attempts to get her to do outdoor activities, and they film a ton of meals in fancy restaurants: https://we.tl/t-ccOF2l1gxY

The "can we eat now!?!" moment begins at 23:30. It's quite playful -- it's not like he snaps at her -- but I'm sure underneath he was tired of her constant filming on this trip.

A special highlight for me is at 11:25. It's Saturday and Joe is in the office working because they are taking Monday and Tuesday off work. Elle says they are both "working hard" since she has to go pick up a file she forgot at work and mail some packages at her favourite post office. How ridiculous to compare running errands on a Saturday to someone who is actually in the office doing work. No wonder Joe was turned off by her vapidness and fake worth ethic.

Ummm, didn't she say multiple times while working at MFDA that the reason she doesn't bring "work" home with her is because of the sensitive nature of what she worked on?? So which is it Smelle? I think she threw that or flat out made it up to keep up with Joe, who for all we know just wanted a few hours away from her before being stuck with her 24/7 for a long weekend. :m

She was in Nordstrom five days a week, it was beyond. I'd honestly get bored of the store, they don't change products/displays that frequently. I get a beautiful shop can be a happy escape, but every day? That's a shopping addiction.

There was one vlog where she was getting a coffee (her one a week, since she affords Chanel and Gucci by bringing coffee from home :ROFLMAO:) and then got distracted by a shoe sale. Jump to Elle waiting on a salesperson to pull a size from the back. Wasn't anyone expecting her back at work? Obviously most knowledge workers don't have to be in their seat at all times, but I'd be annoyed if a colleague left for a coffee run and came back with a Nordstrom bag half an hour later.

For those in Vancouver, a fun fact. So, Elle's office was in the Scotia Tower -- it's on the same block of West Georgia Street as the London Drugs at Granville, across from The Bay. Now, if I was at that place and was going to Nordstrom, I'd just walk down the block to Nordstrom, right? Since it's maybe a one minute walk. Not Elle. She would walk through the underground mall that connects The Bay to the Skytrain, through the Pacific Centre mall, and then up the elevator to Nordstrom. The most convoluted route possible that exposes her to the most shopping. Then she'd be in Club Monaco or Sephora after getting a coffee. So unprofessional!

She spent so little time at that job at times I wondered if it was actually an unpaid internship or volunteer position.
I wonder if she regrets leaving that job. I imagine the pay wasn’t too bad (enough for her to live out her girl boss dreams with the help of mom or boyfriend and really what more does she need?), fancy team building events in Whistler, yearly training trip to Toronto, and amazing work life balance (so much time for shopping, hair appointments, lunch, etc). It can’t be easy to find a job like that.

I'm still confused as to why she didn't go back to Vancouver after her engagement imploded. Seattle has a similar population size so it's not like she's moving to a much larger city, and she was in Vancouver for so long that it seems like the obvious better option. I also think it's a much prettier city.

I wonder if her reputation in Vancouver is really bad, both professionally and socially, and that's why she felt the need to start afresh elsewhere.

I think she tried to get her old job back but they didn't want her. Although she could have found some compliance analyst role in a bank etc., surely MFDA isn't the only place that could offer her a white collar job in Vancouver.

I wonder if she thought that she was entitled to a 2-hour lunch break because she started work at 8 AM instead of 9 AM? I agree that knowledge workers don't have to be at their desk every minute of their day, but at the same time taking excessive lunch breaks ON A DAILY BASIS is an abuse of company time in my view.

In my opinion, Smelle was earning a rather average salary at MFDA. She was definitely earning way less than her peers with comparable education who pursued career in law. Let's be realistic, she was a fraud investigator, a role that she was overqualified for (a law degree and a licence to practice law are NOT required to perform the job) and it's not like she had 20 years of experience either. It was a regular cubicle job which probably paid as much as a compliance analyst or some sort of administrator would make in a finance company.

I agree, she was probably too embarrassed to go back to her old life. She did have that job interview in Vancouver, that everyone on here speculated it was for a management position at her old job. She would have probably gone back had she got it, at least she could say she moved up the career ladder in her time away. But to go back to everything the same as you left it, entry level job, no finance, was probably to much for Elle.

Plus the health care! Seriously, you may be healthy today, but you never know what tomorrow may bring and, in the US, a cancer diagnosis often means you will go bankrupt. You could also just end up in a car accident and that, too, could bankrupt you. As a Canadian citizen can she just cross the border for treatment? Anyone know how it works? I love living in the US because of my job, but if it weren’t for that, I’d move.

After you've been out of the country for long enough, you can't just come back and get free healthcare if you're sick. I can't remember the exact requirement but it's something like no more than 180 days per year and you have to be legally domiciled in Canada so Canadians who work and pay taxes abroad can't just come back for free treatment.

I'm guessing Smelle thinks she's young and healthy so healthcare isn't an issue.

I also believe that her old job didn't want her back. Even if she couldn't get a promotion (why would she, given she quit and didn't do anything while she waited for Rickets to marry her in Florida), that entry level job is still way better than the sad pay to list fake job she has now.

I think @APoppy is probably right, that Eleanor is just too embarrassed to go back to a place where many people would know she had a failed engagement and is unemployed. I also suspect she has a poor reputation in the dating scene in Vancouver because someone on GG mentioned how Eleanor Lecocq went after a guy who already had a girlfriend because he was rich.

Even young and 'healthy' can get cancer or covid ;)
I'd be shocked if she hasn't had Covid already given how much she goes out to dine and meet strange men during lockdowns.

Thanks for the video. It brought back cringe moments.

I cannot understand spending my life telling people what I am wearing and what I am grooming myself with. How can she expect other people to want to film her doing this?

I can understand the videos where she used to go to the quiet courtyard, set the camera up, and then film herself doing the outfits of the week or what have you. At least then she was not dragging others into her eye fucking crazy shit while in public and right before going into businesses. What man (or sane woman) wants to be part of something like this? I would like to live in the moment and not save every dam breath for posterity or to upload.

THIS or get in an accident. Working in healthcare I'm always shocked at how many people either expect modern medicine to be a miracle and to never fail them, or just take for granted their good health. Things happen, you can develop autoimmune diseases after a normal viral illness. You can get in an accident and never get back to your baseline.

Especially if she wants kids, shit can happen then too. One of my friends is needing to have vaginal reconstruction and therapy after her traumatic delivery. A friend of a friend developed a rare side effect of pregnancy (that her MD ignored) and no only did she lose the baby, she went into liver failure and had a transplant. And she can't have any more kids. Sure that's extreme but it can happen to anyone.

There’s also a 3-month probationary period. So even if she had moved back to Van, chances are she wouldn’t have had healthcare automatically. At least it’s 3 months in Ontario. Can’t imagine it would be any different.

I know you're new here but I've loved your posts. Do we have a 'rookie of the year' award?

either she’s so stupid and doesn’t know what “busy” mean or that she likes to exaggerate... I don’t know which one is worse.

if she was as busy as she said she was before her Whistler trip, how the hell did she have time to enjoy a leisurely ramen lunch AND a trip to HMart to pick up her fav lip stain during her lunch break??? If I were busy, I would be eating a sandwich at my desk and working till after the sun set.

Just some Glassdoor references of what Fraud Investigators make annually on average. I chose some comparable cities, some national averages, and some of the most expensive cities in North America with the highest cost of living and salaries.
She couldn’t have been performing off the charts or else she would have gotten promoted at least once in the five years she was there (heck, most of us are promoted at least twice, if not five times, in as many years), but she never budged. I’m guessing she was around average, if not an underperformer.

But let’s just be generous and say she was an 🤩ALL-STAR🤩. Even then she was making max $94K CAD ($75K USD). That’s a wonderful salary that most people would be grateful for, would make their lives comfortable, and relieve a ton of environmental stressors.

But enough to lie in the lap of luxury that Elle Florence In Seattle wants us to believe?

In reality, she was probably making around $55K CAD ($44K USD).

Someone (aka Ginette, current walking-wallet love-of-my-life, or illegitimate father who pays Ginette and Elle to stay far, far away) is funding her luxury addiction.

It’s kind of fascinating how Elle just seems to live in her own world, completely unaware of how the rest of the world works and what people deal with. I can’t decide if that kind of ignorance is bliss because her life is so easy and straightforward (it’s all about “luxe” lunches and shopping and finding a wealthy man) or a curse because she has no idea what’s going on, and it’s very likely that Ginette will eventually run out of money to support her and she may not be able to get a man to pay for her lifestyle forever.

If that happens, reality is going to hit her like a ton of bricks. But maybe Ginette already saw the writing on the wall and has planned it all out already?

$55K CAD ($44K USD), what Elle most likely was making is around $42K CAD after taxes, or $3,500 CAD/mo. The average 2BR apartment in Vancouver goes for $3,000 a month. If we’re assuming she paid half (LOL) when she lived with Joe, that would leave her with $2,000 each month. She would routinely spend hundreds of $$ a day during the Joe era, so she probably saw that $2K as all disposable, if not more. It only takes 10 days of $200 purchases (conservative; Elle was spending ~$400/day back then) to burn through that.

If I had time, I’d put together a pretty detailed balance sheet of her monthly cash flows. It would probably show that her net out was at least four to five times her net in.

So she claims she saved up for that car, huh? And that she’s saving up for a home purchase? We’re supposed to believe Elle Florence In Seattle is an independent 32yo #girlboss, hmm?
