Elle is my favorite trainwreck/reality TV/youtuber that I love to hate watch

And judging by the very active engagement on these ongoing threads, many people seem to feel the same way. It's not often that a youtuber with a small following is discussed at such lengths. Elle should really reconsider law and go on Love Island or the Bachelor! 🤪

OMG could you imagine her on Love Island!!! 😹

I find her expectations for a partner very strange. On the one hand she wants to find someone who will take care of her, spoil her, and treat her like the baby she is. On the other hand she has this weird fantasy of what love and intimacy should be like...sharing drinks, spending EVERY waking moment together and doing EVERYTHING together, and basically carving out a happy ending like she sees on TV. She is delusional if she can find a man who can fit all of the above; if she does it wouldn’t shock me if he were some controlling, misogynist creep with a white knight complex.

Personally I still can’t see Elle in a long term relationship. If she is seeing someone as claimed (and seriously, fuck her...I haven’t seen my family in months thanks to selfish assholes like her), I don’t see it lasting very long. She can pretend to be generous, independent, and “wifey-material” for as long as she wants, but in the end her selfish, spoiled, needy, and dishonest characteristics always come through.

Exactly, and who wants to spend all their time with their significant other anyway? I like my independence and don’t necessarily want to share all my interests with my spouse; it would feel invasive and suffocating. Having our own interests and friends keeps things from being stale and makes the relationship healthier. Too many of her life decisions are based in insecurity and she’s too stubborn and un-self aware to ever change or get therapy.

Sucks to be you, Eleonore Lecocq.

The private school she attended does not offer French immersion, so likely she just took French lessons. The tuition is also over $22,000 CDN a year in middle school and $24,000 CDN a year in high school.

If Elle attended that school her entire life, Ginette spent close to a quarter of a million dollars on Elle's grade school education. Yet the woman still cannot pronounce palette or Louis Vuitton properly...
plus she doesn't seem to have one friend from school

Gave her more time to do some serious shopping on the sly without him being home to see her haul in bag after bag day after day.
I have this picture of Elle heading into her building's garbage room after work, throwing out all her bags and furiously stuffing her clothes, makeup, and other purchases into her handbag and lunch bag so Joe wouldn't see anything.

I actually think her P.O. Box was all about shopping too. She claimed she needed one to get her Alibaba pearls and scarves delivered to - why not use your home address then? Probably got it so her online shopping purchases wouldn't be seen by Joe.

The shopping was probably less of a thing during the Rick months because they clearly had no money. Remember that tragic ThreadUp haul where Elle claimed to love wearing old, used JCrew? Not shading thrift stuff, but a lot of what she received was wrinkly and we all know she never thrift shopped in Vancouver or even shopped at places like JCrew. Girl was all about Nordstrom, literally everything she wore was from Nordstrom.

I love how clueless Elle is at Chris’s annoyance. It’s a mixture of giddiness at herselfishness and suspense that he is going to right-hook her at any second.

Chris: “You’re really not going to cut the audio, it’s just going to be like 20 minutes of us talking, isn’t it?”

Elle: “Uh huh”

Elle: “Am I your paparazzi now? A-huh-huh-huh”

Chris: *I will fucking surgically remove you, your baby talk, your camera, and your cat out of my life like a cancerous tumor, you airheaded, selfish, bratty little toddler.* “How are you going to speed(?) and walk home if you’re pointing at me?”

Elle: “Rrrrgghhrr”

Chris: “It doesn’t actually work.”

Elle: “You’re distracting me.”

Chris: “Why don’t you film the pervert hotel?”

Elle: “The WWWWHHHHHAAAAATTTTTT???!!!!”

Chris: “The Heathland?”

13:24

Elle: “Oh, and people are eating donutssss, and they don’t like being filmeddddd, I’m going to film them anywayyyyyyyyyy. Yesssss, yessss.” Fuck everyone else in the world who isn’t me.

The fact that she filmed all this, edited it, uploaded it, presumably watched it herself at least once after posting, and have kept it up on her channel for 4 years tells us that she thinks there’s absolutely nothing wrong with this behavior.

6:16 😮 You guys, I DON'T BELIEVE IT!! She actually says sorry for walking in front of someone.

To quote someone in The Santa Clause, ..."They DO exist!..." Elves, miracles for Elle, same thing. 🤷‍♀️

Nordstrom has a wide selection of sizes especially petites. Not sure if Elle is petite or not. Plus she doesn't drive. Maybe it's the most convenient place for her to shop. J Crew, the real brand, not outlet is not cheap - they closed in Canada only J Crew outlet remains.

All makeup and Elle's clothes look the same after a while. I mean there are only so many shades of brown eyeshadow and cashmere sweaters and skinny jean looks you can have.

I personally thought the PO box was more for her privacy so people don't know her personal address but I could be wrong.

She doesn’t respect or care about anyone but herself. She keeps saying she’s the one whose privacy is being violated but she never respects other people’s privacy.

We have all seen how much Chris and Joe hated being filmed and how she still did it and posted it anyway. The annoyed reaction from other pedestrians while she waltzed on Vancouver streets holding her camera like there’s no one else have been documented in numerous vlogs herself. The Seattle friend who she went hiking with clearly wants to remain private but she posted her photo on Instagram story anyway just to prove to online strangers that she has friend. Even when being asked nicely by her subscriber about her profession, she responded rudely and posted the private conversation on her Instagram in a condescending manner and with the subscriber’s profile photo attached. She could at least she edit out the subscriber’s profile photo (I edited her photo out after taking the screenshot).

She truly has no manners. At least the stuff people are discussing about her are voluntarily posted by herself unlike the people above who were forced to show their face on her social media or had it done unknowingly.

Where's the eye roll button when ya need it??

Her mother got to Seattle in late October, so it's already been a month. Strange choice for Ginette... she could be on a beach in Hawaii but is forced to trudge through the Seattle rain every night to stay in a hotel.

Mamma G will also probably treat Elle to a designer handbag. The way she talks about Elle is ridiculous, going on about how hard her girl has worked and how she deserves these things. God... must be a weird feeling watching your kid drain their inheritance on bags and cashmere.
In other news, I got a cheap scarf today. Paid $5 bucks for "cashmere from Scotland" and probably got a better deal than all the people Smelleanor scams. It's absolutely LOW how far she will stoop to make a buck. She truly IS a scammer!

You can also buy way nicer pearls on Etsy for much cheaper prices than Elle's stuff. So they're no Mikimoto grade AAA+ but still nice. You don't need to spend a fortune to look nice.

As for eyeshadow - no body knows whether you have 10 neutral eyeshadow palettes or just 1. They all look the same. And Makeup goes bad after you open them so basically it just collects bacteria.

The Nordstrom in Vancouver is in the heart of the downtown shopping district and is in the same mall as countless other retailers. You can literally walk across the street to Aritzia and H&M. I think she liked walking around Nordstrom and having all the sales associates recognize her as "the girl who films herself and slams the door in stranger's faces."

Totally agree J Crew is not cheap. But this is the girl who spent $900+ on three Coach sweaters, so I think she could spring for the occasional J Crew piece. The ThreadUp haul made no sense for her "brand" and she clearly detested having to buy anything used. Papa Rick put her on a budget and she was pissed!

I had a friend who grew up in a family of 3 children. The parents spent a lot of money on themselves. Mom bought designer handbags and expensive clothes. They had a huge mansion and expensive cars. The parents also took lavish vacations and ate out regularly in fancy restaurants.

But they never took the kids anywheres. When I went over to their house, they never had fresh milk. It was always powdered milk my friend had to make herself. And she always had bologna sandwiches for lunch (the ones with the cheaper meat cuts) and not real say roast beef, salami or anything. The kids never went out with their parents for their fancy restaurants or vacations.

I can imagine Elle being a parent like that. Her priorities are so messed up. I can't see Elle saving to pay their kids through private school - she'd rather get more bags.

Cashmere from Scotland but the flag is a Union Jack? 😜 I live in Scotland and a genuine cashmere scarf from here would set you back $150.
But I get your point. Her goods are overpriced the way even Gucci wouldn't dare to.

no she would defo spring for private school, she would need the prestige and to meet the soccer moms in the car park in her suv

Hi all - long time lurker, first time poster here :)

I just noticed something and I thought I’d share - I also follow Anna Bey (aka “School of Affluence”) and I just realized Elle doesn’t follow her - honestly I’m shocked by this because I feel like Anna Bey’s content was made for Elle.

For those unfamiliar, Anne Bey is another YouTuber who runs an online “finishing school”. Her content consists mainly of how to find and marry a rich man, how to be an “elegant lady” and move up into high society. She is also European - so right up Elle’s ally, right?

I also feel like I need to thank you ladies - reading your critique of Elle’s financial habits in previous threads is what finally convinced me to open a retirement account. (I’m in my mid twenties and still fairly new to the ‘having a real job/adulting’ thing)

If Elle wants a real law job, she should study for the bar exam in French, and pass it. There are always in need of bilingual lawyers who can pass the bar in multiple languages. Many people in Canada are bilingual but not fluent enough to do exams in both languages. Maybe she should try moving to Montreal. But she's so fixated on getting a guy that she can't move that far.

Yeah, being bilingual is fantastic for many professional jobs in Canada. Sorry if this sounds stupid, but how do we know she is actually fluent in French? Just because it's your first language, as she claims, doesn't mean you can speak, read, and write it fluently. My guess is that she can probably speak French OK but can't write or read it that great because she only learned it from her mother and in grade school French class.

I honestly question everything she claims. From her "Tiffany" engagement ring to her "Oxford University" program to her dress size to her job, everything seems like an exaggeration or a straight-up lie.
